PING - Doug Meyer.... I broke my Muzzy Clutch Hub :(
Doug,
You aren't going to believe this, but I broke one of the clutch operating bolts off (the end sheared off) on my new Muzzy's clutch hub!!!! DAMNIT... I'm thinking my torque wrench may be broken, it was only reading 40 ft/lbs when the shear occured (I was trying to torque down to 75 ft/lbs per spec). I've got a set of new bolts coming, but I'm wondering if I can order just the Clutch hub from you guys, or do I need to get a whole new clutch kit? If possible, can you can e-mail me at dethpulse@hotmail.com or send me a reply here.
I suck.

BTW - I'm sticking my head in an oven... then going to play in highway traffic... no wait - with my luck I'll only get banged up real good and have to live in pain for the next 90 years. .

Maybe I should put my air and power tools away... and take her to the stealer from now on . Man. First I dump it - then I BREAK it. I better go make sure no flamable liquids are near it... she'll prolly go up in flames .

I guess this ALSO explains why I couldn't get the torque wrench to read 100 ft/lbs on the basket nut.... I prolly have the damn thing torqued to like 200 ft/lbs. ARRRRRG.... I HATE MONDAYS.

We have a muzzy clutch kit...that i had to rob the clutches and steels from the other day during a dyno session...Give me a call. I can send it to for the price less the parts i had to rob from it.
Iam not sure WHERE you live...but if on the east coast or near it will get to quicker..if you are in a rush for it.
We are located in North Carolina.
Thanks
Doug

DP, did you really mean to say 75 FOOT-lbs??? If you are talking about the 6 cap screws which go thru the pressure plate & springs to the hub, I am pretty sure the spec is 78 INCH-lbs. Maybe you are talking about some other bolts???

WOW, I am all better now! I was just trying to understand how :ANY: of the bolts took 75 ft lbs of torque! I use an electric gun and only to "Snug them. I also use a beam type torque wrench because they do not get very far out of wack when bad even though they are a little bit less accurate that a good clicker when the clicker is new! Always back "All" of the torque off a clicker when not in use. That makes them go bad even sooner!
