Windows XP Question

How do you prevent cettain programs from automatically loading in XP?

I know it's thr "run" command in the registery, but I don't know where to look.

You can see the startup stuff without getting into the registry by running msconfig.

Start --> Run --> msconfig

Look under the startup tab.

Nero,

This looks/sounds worse then it is,

Click on start, programs, accessories, system tools, system information, in the next window on the menu bar, ckick on tools, system configuration utility, in the next window, click on the startup tab.

What you will see is a list of all the programs/etc. that are started on startup. You will notice that there is a check box next to each item. If you remove the check-mark from the box you will be able to SAFELY stop that item from starting the next time you reboot. If there is a problem after rebooting you put the check mark back and every is back to where it was.

DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH ANYTHING ELSE IN THIS AREA, UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH IT!!!!!!!
