Harry, did you buy a set of takeoffs from a racer? Can't see spending the money otherwise. Slicks are neat stuff, but you gotta get a pretty hard compound for the 12. All that torque, pushing all that weight... ____________

Yeah steve that was actually cleaner next to my bike (hell froze over
Ninjaboy is correct ,they are pirelli dragon slicks front 120/70/55 ,compound is sc-11 (supersoft) and the rear 180 is sc-2
Those slicks stick like glue once you get them warmed up.

Ok, but how well do they ssslide? Did you hang the rear or push the front much? If applicable, was it controllable when it slid...did they slide slow, or fast?

They were very predictable. They gripped like glue once they got up to temp. Turn one exit before I was having to very slowly get on the gas or the rear would break loose. You are bacically leaned over setting up for the next turns after I put the slicks on I was doing wheelies with the bike leaned over, it was a lot more fun with the slicks. sc-1 is the softest (supersoft) sc-2 is soft I think.

Thanx Jon. I've wanted to do the track for 3 motorcycles now and decided what the hell, gotta do it. Plus I just got a ticket and that helped push me too, track days are cheaper than tickets ya know.
I can't put into words how much fun I had, Amber said she's never seen me this happy(with my clothes on), I didn't have to worry about cops, dogs, kids, traffic or anything, I started to push it on the last session, luck I geuss I was running low on petrol and had to come in because I was pushing more than those sport touring tires could handle and almost broke my shift lever off in turn 2 at over 100.
Hopefully next time I'll be able to keep up with Harry, the guy can fly.

And if anyone knows much about stock brakes, my rotors were turning dark colors and are now squealing and hot as fuck even after a slow easy ride, almost like the calipers are sticking. I checked the fluid level to make sure it wasn't too high but it's not. Any ideas? Anyone have problems with the stock set-up on a track?
