Let a pro drive my 12 down the track Damn!
Rider makes a HUGE difference....Went drag racing last night at KCIR. Ran my best time ever at a 10.280 at 138. I was pumped! I'm 240 lbs without leathers and my 12 is making 178 rwhp. I got talking to a guy named Vince who is currently #9 in AMA pro star. He seemed like a reputable guy, so I asked if he could make a couple passes so I could see what my bike was capable of. He said he'd love to and went to it. He's 160 lbs or about 80 lbs lighter than me, so I knew he'd have some big mph. And he can drive lightyears better than me too. Here's my best time ever compared to his second(and final) pass.

Damn! I got smoked. He said with a few more passes, the bike should run 9.5 to 9.6. I guess that illustrates the difference in rider skill and weight. Us big guys who can't drive are screwed.

Vince Woska is a good guy and races 600SS in Prostar. and dude you just need to add HP!! I weigh 240...

Yes, but us smaller/lighter guys can't keep the front wheel down w/stock arm

Big...In time you will be running those same times!!!...I weight 200lbs with leathers, boots, gloves, helmet and ran the time below...The ' 02 has an Akrapovic, Muzzy blockoffs 16-44 gearing, slammed, Billet Basket, 11 same size fibers, 10 2.0 steels, Stock motor/swingarm and everything else is OEM, no airshifter, timing advance and use 93 octane pump gas!!!
So, give your self time and hook up with some track rentals and you will get better in no time!!!

Bigcc I'm in the Warrensburg Mo. area.. I needa cut him loose on mine.... I am too large for fast times also... Mines a 6 inch over arm with a double shot of NOS And a fer other things here and there..... I need to meet him... Also another very fast guy is a young kid named Andre... I watched him make 3 9.70 passes on a 1000 GSXR....

Richard he has been faster than that on the 1000. 60's or mid 50's I think..

Andre had never ridden my bike.. I let him street race it no juice and stock arm and he waxed a Busa 5 straight races...

You guys wanna get a group of 12's together next Wed or Fri? That's Oct 22 or the 24th. Track opens at 6:00 pm and costs $20 to run. Weather looks good right now. Anyone interested? I need all the practice I can get...
MadMike, the track is open Wed and Fri for the rest of October. That's two more weeks. Damn I can't beleive winter is almost here. Then they have a few Sunday sessions until they close. Oh, and I wish I had the money to add more hp. That stuff costs too much.
Richard, I'm sure Vince would be happy to make some passes on your bike. I don't really know him except from the one night, but he seems really friendly and eager to ride everything he can. Funny thing is, he's only 17 years old. He has some fast years ahead of him.

With 178hp, a 160lb guy should be going 152mph or so unless the track conditions and air was crap. What was the elevation of the track? 600SS rider should be an awesome rider, I am suprised he didn't 60' better then that unless your bike is at stock height. You will get your 60' down to where his was (1.66) pretty easy with some practice and get VERY close to the 9 sec zone. Keep chippin at it!
