How many miles on a Muzzy exhaust before repack?
I've got about 6K on my Muzzy exhaust - she is starting to sound LOOOUD (louder than normal). What is the average milage before a repack?

Depends... sometimes you could burn the packing in as little as 3-5 WFO runs given enough time/heat.
What kind of muffler do you have? The metal wrapped mufflers can be neglected more than the carbon ones.

Mine was long gone after 8k miles.
Repacking it made a very noticable difference.

The tighter and/or more material you wrap/stuff in there makes a big difference. If it's loose, it will blow out much easier. If you wrap the core with a fine mesh screen, then install the packing, it will last longer still, but will be slightly louder (the sound waves won't disperse into the packing as easily). Many people won't pack their cans as full as possible, because it can add substantial weight. But believe me, for the extra pound, it's well worth it for any street bike in longevity of the packing.
