One way to think of it.... If you ever are going to do any other mods such as NOS Big bore or things of this nature then your gonna need a pipe anyway...

Phault, i got a little over 26 hp out of a Muzzy Pipe, Power commander, K&N filter, and a Muzzy ignition advance.....after all the parts I took it down to Kcadby @ Stock Mild to Wild, in Jacksonville FL....I run down one tooth in the front and the bike really screams compared to stock.....and revs much faster now....guess its all in what you want......

It was well worth it to me........

My bike makes about 175 HP with just a Muzzy Exhaust, PC-IIIr and K&N filters. I'd say OH YEAH Muzzy is worth is . Its GREAT to go to bike shows like Marcus Dairy meets in the NE and watch my bike up on the dyno compared with other '12's. Most '12's will dyno in the 160's or so, but with good tuning on a setup like you are contemplating, you can easily get into the 170's - some even have seen up to 180!!!

Muzzy makes some good stuff, but get a "stepped Hindle" for a pipe(they make the most power-bar none). Muzzy clutch basket is needed. PCIIIr usb, K & N's, tuned @ North County Hypersports in Oceanside Cali.
184HP and 101 ft/lbs. torque
Rides well, nice and smooth. No choppiness when back on the throttle(the wheelspin is my fault!)

Omygosh! "The most power bar none". A bit of a sweeping generalization, no?

Couldn't resist........

I thought that was funny too, but to be honest I've grown a bit tired of the infomercial type pipe claims. Cleans better than the rest, tastes great, less filling, whatever. He puts up the same numbers as my 2000 and it's the most bar none. Right. I guess that would be true if he tried it againt all the others and there were none left to compare it to but I know that didn't happen.

Put 100 stock bikes on the dyno and you'll get 100 different measurements. Put the same bike on a dozen different dynos and you could get a dozen different numbers. Add an aftermarket anything and the mix goes wild. Broad statements about things like that do little more than stir opinions and don't help with any decisions. Careful with the statements.

We all know if you ask a question about pipes and you'll get a dozen different answers. Just try to keep the answers to what you know, not what you think, because that's the only info that's worth anything. If you like something and it works for you, cool, I'm happy for you. Just don't try to turn that opinion into something it's not.

There is a difference in Muzzys! Most of the other pipe manufactures try to make the best pipe they can that will work with the stock bike and no other changes. Muzzy seems to try to make the best pipe they can as part of a "System"! Just buy the pipe and you may end up better or worse than some other pipes. Buy the "System" (Pipe, Mapped Pc3r or their own ECU, Block off plates Stacks and what ever else they have) and then you have a better chance of having the "Best" Performing pipe around.

To me, the reason that Muzzy and Hindle are mostly on top are they are Kawasaki People. Muzzy here in the USA and Hindle in Canada. Yoshimura started out on Honda's and then went to Kawasaki's and ended up with Suzuki's that had more Kawasaki parts than suzuki's! Two Brothers, Honda, Vance & Hines Yamaha's and now Harleys.

I look at Muzzys as the place for "No compromise" performance (Read Louder and maybe not as smooth but in the area where it is supposed to work, that is where it works. I look at Hindle as a work in progress. 4-2-1's that are as short as a 4-1, then 4-2-1's that are midway between a 4-1 and a TiForce 4-2-1 and then (read now) a 4-2-1 that is somewhere between a Muzzys and their own pipe. about 4 variations of the same Step Tube pipe, so even when you are compairing Step Pipes, you have to know which generation!

In the end, it totally depends on exactly what you are looking for in a pipe and then find the pipe that fits exactly what you want to do and how you want to use it and then Buy that Pipe and do not worry about what anyone else has!
