I may come off a little harsh but in this bike world we are all brothers with a common love. And if anybody thinks that we are not brothers, how many times have you heard of someone losing their life on a bike and it makes you sick to your stomach even if we did not know the person. We are all attached to each other in some way, and I thing that Muzzy is just getting a little out of touch with the common rider. I have nothing but respect for Doug Meyer, but I had two problems, 1. was the service I recieved. If you are first with a product and it does not work fine, but you have to be willing to take the products back and fix them or return the consumers money, not take the money and run. 2. the next problem I had is that Doug has a lot of power and he has a higer responsibility to those with lesser knowledge. If a product has to be "idiot proofed" to protect the consumer then so be it. Many of us don't have the money to spend on a product once let alone twice, so help us fix the wrongs. I'm sorry if I have come off the wrong way and I hope I have not offended anyone. I am really a nice guy but I don't like to be rubed the wrong way. Just so you guys don't think I am a big mouth computer warrior who hides behind his screen name: My name is Jack Cambra Jr. I am the two time Hawaii Streetbike Shootout Champion and am on my way to a third title. I am the current state record holder and have held that record for two years. Thank you everybody and please Mr. Meyer, no hard feelings.

No problem Jack, It's all better now. Please keep in mind that I just do the best I can around here for Mr. Muzzy and for the customers that we try to serve. I'm almost obsessive about technical accuracy and won't knowingly compromise that, ever. I've been trying to figure out how things work for 43 years now and I never stop learning.
The "common rider" IS our customer and we'll never forget that. I feel that the participants on this board create a kind of 24-7 "club meeting" atmosphere. But all of us must keep in mind that there are many thousands of ZX-12 owners out there, that the ZX-12 "club" is far bigger than the participants here and many of them use the products available to them without incident. We pay attention because we get feedback from all those users, not just you guys.
Doug

Now that all the centimental junk is out of th way, what about my lock up?
I know Jack personnally, if it won't work, he won't use it. Muzzy has been blowing smoke up our butts for years. He's only making money. Look at it this way. When ever you hear Kawasaki, you want to put a muzzy on, don't you? That's what your friends tell you. Wrong answer, I have purchased several items from muzzy, from piston kits, advancers to pipes. My pipe only lasted two and half years, now I have a Akro; piston kit, (1270) only logged about 900 miles.(with break in) On nos (40 shot)maybe 20 passes. My motor started losing power, I checked the compression, it was low for a 13:5 to 1 set of piston. I order a new set of rings, checked the eng gap of the old and the new, they were both the same I called and asked for Rob or Doug, they were both out, so I left a message, no one called. Doug emailed me and we played tag for a while, but nothing happened. I had a brand new set of rings that had a ring end gap of .016, when it should have been around .012. I got the lock up, stack height it correct, when ever I engauge the clutch it melts in my hand; that's at idle. You tell me. You think muzzy is looking out for you? No, it's about who's making a product that no one else is making for our particular brand of motorcycle. Another example, the bear stacks, he sent them a set, they didn't have time to test them, but they said they didn't work. Look now, muzzy has stacks that suppose to make hp. Their dry nos kit, he's bad mouthing everyone's kit,(read the sales pitch) Single port, ours spray over the intake track. You never thought of a dry kit until Lawson put on the web and then Schnitz stole the kit. I know a lot of you are going to try and come down hard, but he truth hurts. Muzzy isn't there for us, we are a means that justify the end. Nobody is making alot of parts for the zx12, so I will make some BS and sell it to them, they will be forced to buy my products. It seems to me that everything muzzy starts, but someone else has to finish. Koby Adams, took over what was left for Kawasaki, and look at them know. Alot Faster then ever has gone. Muzzy about making money. PERIOD!!!! You guys/gals can get mad at me, I don't care, most of you are only purhcasing pipes and clutches. The clutches comes from from Kawasaki anyway.(stock plates/frictions) So, are you (muzzy) going to fix this damn lockup or not, or do I need to initate a class action law suite? Doug, don't come back with no bs. Fix it or give my(us our) money back!

I really can't find anything in there that merits a response. But I did read it.

It really doesn't matter wether you reply or not, the fact still remains only two people on this board says that your product works with no problems. I am telling you that it's not working, and you aren't doing anything to help me. This is a prime example of what everyone and I are saying about muzzy products. When are you going to get the picture. If I am on this site and telling everyone that your product doesn't work and you read and make a reply, but don't address the issue or even im /private message me on what we(your company and me) can try to make it work, you are full of shit like I said earlier. You can get mad, I don't care. It just proves what everyone is saying about the customer service and the products. You can rest assured that I won't purchase anymore of your products and I will tell all of my friends not to do so as well. This is not a threat, but notification, this is not the end, I will get my money back, wether you refund it or we settle it in court ..... You chose the posion

Toyz,
I'm not mad at all. I generally don't get mad at much of anything. I just can't properly respond to the sweeping generalizations and mis-information in your post.
You know, in all the time I've spent on e-mail and phone with you trying to help you diagnose your running problems (which I believe were solved by properly venting the fuel tank (a possible item I mentioned early on in the process), I can't recall you ever asking about a clutch problem or directly requesting anything to do with your clutch, other than the fact that I told you that a slipping clutch was not the root cause of your bike's poor performance as you suggested. Maybe you requested some clutch service under a name I don't recognize, I don't know. But, this last ranting post about you demanding a refund is the first I've heard about it. In any case we don't do business in a public formum. This place is for information exchange, not conflict resolution.
Doug

okay, D, you know now, what are you doing to help resolve, if it take simpleton explinations, then so be. It appears to me that you and a few are the only ones that knows how to set it up, without wearing out the push rod out?

Jack:
You have been misinformed, our shootout bike still uses the Muzzy lockup that we've been running all along.
We tried an MTC on our bike in Rockingham back in June, but did not spend enough time to try and get it figured out.
