Dunlop D204??

What is this D204 tire? I know it is probably semi-old technology but what category does it fit in? Is it a sporty, soft and sticky tire, a long lasting sport-touring one or an in-between? Thanks!

They came as original equipment on lots of sportbikes up until about the 1998 model year. they are the predicessor to the D207. They worked alright for me but I like the 207's better, they seem to be cheaper too!

D204

Well, at $100 US I would choose another model. But I found a place where they are selling it for $50 US (170/60/17 only which is OK for my ZX-11C).

They used to work real well on my ZX-11. I liked the way they broke loose and slid. Very predictable. Used to pull out of the driveway and make a Nike Swoosh on the street every time I left the house.

12RPilot, what kind of treadlife were you obtaining from the D204 on your ZX11? At 50% the usual cost, getting 50% my actual treadlife (6000 miles) is not worth it. But if I can get 75% or more (4500 miles +) I could go for it... Thanks!

I was only getting about 2500 miles. I kinda beat it though.

12RPilot, my final question is: "For reference of treadwear, what other tires did you used on your 11 and what were the treadlife of those?" (assuming you rode them the same way you did with the D204). Thanks again!

Never tried any other tire. Was easily satisfied back then and never kidded myself that the 11 was a sportbike.
