Try Bridgestone BT 010's, they last pretty long compared to others and have good grip for street riding.

so far the best tire I have found are the 208's......have tried Michelin Pilots, Pirelli Dragon, and Metzler M1.....I like the 208 the best.......

I am not a bridgestone person.....dont like the sidewall flex, or should I say the lack of on the Bridgestone....and they tend to go off very quickly.....

Bridgestones - 012SS - best on this bike for me. Don't like the 208's. No feedback at all, just skate & slip, run off the edge.

Air pressure makes a huge difference. As well as, how hard you ride, how far you lean, how much combined weight you're carrying, outside tempature, road conditions, etc... It's really opening a can of worms depending on how detailed you want to get on the subject.

So gee, between HDL & me, you should be really confused now...

Just replaced 207s w/208s. Seems like they dive into corners more easily, but they appear to be taller, then my D207s, or perhaps I'm just sensing the diference between a used tire and a new one.

I've ridden different bikes with different tires, and tired combinations front and back, and 12s with different tires, and the best for me has been the 208s.

Surprised you don't like the Dunflops Kerry. I know, I know, they don't stick like the newer technology tires. But at least they are predictable when they let go- the only reason I keep putting D207's on (haven't tried a 208 yet), as well as the lower cost.

What's a 012ss anywayz? Higher-end Bridgestone? Any kind of warning when they start slidin' ????? (The reason I don't use the H2's), "super stick until your off the bike" as one x-racer friend put it...) :P

see I am the exact opposite as K...I think that the 208's give great feed back....I get very little with the michelins, and none with the old bridgstones I tried......But I ran the stones a long time ago....and havent tried the new generations stones on anything but a GSXR1k....they were crap, like riding on bricks, dropped the pressure down as far as 27psi, then it got squirly..........I have liked the Pirelli Dragons, but you cant get them any more...now they have the Diablo's....havent heard anything good about them, now the Diablo Corsa's may be a different story..if I remember right Dave is gonna run them...or was it Freek?

I want to try the H2 for track days on the 12...just put a set on the 6 for the track, and gonna see how they do on it first, its more forgiving than the 12.....have a set of Super Corsa's on the 6 now, and they are great...if the H2 is half the tire, it should be fun to ride on.....

But that's what is so cool! Everyone to there own opinion. The "new" generation BT012SS Stones are the Supersport Racing Spec. And I'm tellin ya if you have not tried them, think about trying them. In my humble opinion, they cannot be compared to any previous Stones. I like a tire that "talks to me". The Stones do just that.

When ridden "correctly", the ZX12 will "talk to you". The frame flexes substantially when pushed hard into low or high speed corners. And especially if you've got some undualations or track/road pavement changes. The Bridgestone 012SS offer the best communication between pavement, frame flex, and throttle control for me. What matters most in selecting tires is what you feel most comfortable with. The Stones give me the feedback I need, and therefore offer a higher comfort level to push harder.

I'll qualify my opinions by saying I can go just as fast on Dunlops, Michelins, and Pirellis. But it is not a "comfortable" pace and I'm always on edge. The Stones offer the same feel as the frame/chassis, and therefore, I live in harmony and know exactly what I can and can't get away with. Dave, I think you follow me??? (no pun intended...)

Now, if I'm testing something like a Honda 954 or RC51, I completely prefer the Michelins; hands down winner. Completely different bikes from the ZX12. Better chassis, lighter weight, less HP, different ergos, better this, different that, etc... Just depends on the bike.

ZX636, I actually prefer the Pirellis. The bike is a total tool. It goes wherever you point it, does it now, and does it rock solid. For me, the Pirellis match up well.

My riding style dictates a lot of feedback. I like a very "loose" handling bike that flexes alot. I want most of my feedback from the chassis, so I like to combine it with a tire that offers that same feedback. So while you may think the Stones don't "stick" as well as the Dunlops, sticking is not necessarily the primary goal. It's "feedback" which equals confidence in your riding. Same basic reasons why you may have some Superbike riders preferring x-compound, x-sidewall, x-profile, x-tire pressure, etc. But yet lap times, are similar to someone on a completely different bike and/or tire. I absolutely loved the last set of D207RR's i had on there, would never go back to the D207ZR's. I am trying the D208GP ($$$ ouch) and the D208ZR ($$$ cheap) both should be here any day.

I hated the 207's and went to the 010's and then 012's. Love the 012's.

Just to note that in Germany You can get tires quite cheaply from here: reifendirekt.de and the tires I recommend are either bridgestones or my personal favourite Michelin Pilot Sports, but I wouldn't count the Pirellis out either and at the Reifendirekt they (MTR21/22) are also the cheapest tires in 200.

Josh - I've tried Metzelers. I would not run them if you gave them to me... Perhaps some others may feel the same, henceforth, why they never mention them. JMO

Most of my riding is straight line but I don't want to lose it in a corner because of too hard tires. What is the best tire that will get some mileage in the middle but sticks in the corners,My attitude right now is that tires are cheaper than body work and skin grafts. My stock tires(208's) have like 3500miles on them and the back still has some decent life left on it,partly because it was alot of break-in miles I think.

Bridgestone is making leaps and bounds in improving their tires...If you havnt tried them lately....maybe you should....K bryant is right...they do talk to you.

Take your pick....BTO10's,BTO12's,BTO14's,BTO20's.....take a look on Bridgestones website.....pick the tire thats right for your riding style or your machine.

For the street, I'm willing to try anything. That being said, I race with Dunlops. I'm not good enough to capitalize on the difference between one race tire or another, but I am used to the dunlops on the track, and here in the USA, there's always dunlops available at the track. My best experience for wear and good feel on the street has been the Bridgestones. That being said, they came apart like shag carpet on the track.

ok K here we go again......... I jsut got back from DGVI, put the new set of M-1's on it before we left....I went to the 190 rear with these tires....they were fantastic....great traction good feel, and they seem to be wearing very well......Ran the Cherohola and pushing 100+ mph in those long sweepers they were perfect, never slipped slid or did anything to make me nervous......I am going to get a chance to try out the Bridgstone 012's The bike Kelly and I just bought this weekend while at DGVI, (03 ZX6RR) came with them...I know that the OEM tires arent the same, but it will give me an idea.....
