$8650 WOW thats cheap where at !

I just paid $10,000 for my new 03 in Chicago and I called 5 kawasaki dealers but I am making $500 a week payments no Interest to him, my buddy got his 03 for $9600 cash and that was what the dealer paid he showed us the invoice he won a trip to Hawaii for selling his bike it put him in the top 100 dealers.

If you haven't figured it out by now, let me explain. Sportbikes are not the best investment for your money, but they sure are alot of fun! They're kinda like boats, as soon as they come off the showroom floor, you're gonna lose 15% even if you never dropped it in the water! It really boils down to this, if you want to "sell" it, then you're gonna take it in the butt. But there's always the chance you can land a deal with someone who may not be as diligent with their research, and you'll get premium dollars. But you might be sitting on it awhile. And the longer you sit on it, the less it will be worth. It's just a bummer deal all-around...

Hell, I paid just over $10k OTD in November '02 for my '03, and I thought it was a decent deal! I probably have $3k or so in accessories and with the fact that it's in puss condition and has low miles, I'd be lucky to get $8k!!! SOL...

Keep it up there. We already have enough low dollar sano 12's down here to absolutely destroy the resale value market.... Stick it in the CycleTrader and try not to bend over too far! Seriously, you should have no problem getting that for it up there. Try the Sacramento area CycleTrader as well. It's a big Sportbike area.

FWIW, I just picked up a brand new '01 for under $8k. I think what has really softened the resale is that the interest rates are still so low. I was going to buy the bike outright but figured why bother when they'll finance it for 3.9%?

That said, when I was looking for a used ZX the real clean examples were still going for close to $8k or more...so it's not that soft of a market, guess it depends on how bad you have to sell it...
