court

Started picking a jury for a law suit I have against a police officer who made a u-turn in front of me two years ago.Two people said they stopped riding when they had kids to be responsible, one said she hated bikes and another made comments concerning bikers zig zagging in and out of traffic.Out of 14 prospective jurors, only two picked. Its kind of boring listening to the same questions over and over again, but it gets interesting how my lawyer feels out the pool and the answers.Trial will start Wed. or Thur.Good timing as I'm out on strike and don't have to use any personal time.

Why are you suing? Did you crash because of the u-turn?

Yeh,I was coming around a corner and the cop did a uey on the corner and a bridge.Once he saw me,he froze and stopped perpendicular with the road.I was on my Harley dresser and the back wheel slid around and we hit the car at 25 mph.I had rotator cuff surgery to mend .People tell me to milk it and scream my back or neck hurts but I plan on riding more and I don't need the bad karma. They had the cop follow me home just in case I had a problem.I was paid 1200 quag already for repairs to the bike.I give credit to Harley in that it sure held up under a crash.

hope it works out well for ya. i admire the lack of milkage. it's that kinda attitude that sends our insurance costs thru the roof, so it's good to hear when people actually practice what they preach (rare as it is) and just aim for a truly fair settlement.

as to the bike.. well what do u expect? the thing weighs the same as the car & is make of steel. of course it's gonna hodl up well!

Funny part was the bike was wedged under the car in back of the front wheel trapping the cop. With all the computers and monitor on his side plus a belt load of other do-dads,he couldn't climb out the passenger side. One sheepish officer until I pulled the bike out.Sounds like a real safety issue needs to be adressed.Maybe a quick release consol.

Is anyone interested?

Okay good.

A bunch of guys from work were going on a memorial ride to Mt Raineir last summer.

We get separated as we get into the twisty part of the park. I was catching up to the guy infront of me. He was riding a harley 1200 and trying to catch up to the group infront of him.

As I get around the bend, I see him and the bike sliding down the dirt shoulder toward the cliff. He stopped; the bike didn't. I went over the cliff.

I stop and ask him if he's okay. He said yes. The drop was about 200 feet down. There are rocks on the bottom. I am looking for pieces among the rocks but can't find any. I asked him where the bike was. He said it got stock to the bushes about 20 feet down.

Anyway we were able to get the bike out. The rear view mirror was scuffed, plus a couple of minor scratches. He was able to ride the bike the rest of the ride.

I was amazed.

Settled out of court today.I happen to stop by the mouthpiece to drop off some imformation and the opposing lawyer was on the line.He made an offer I was comfortable with and I bit.Trial would have been too much of a high stakes gamble and I don't bet.Time for my wish list!
