Getting ready for Maxton Pics!
Thanks to Kawachan I got a spare rear sub frame. Cut the center out and bent it in on the sides to fit the new section.
A little hard to tell, but lowering the gauges really improves the "Forward view" with your head down. Also a new shield from the UK is clear to the bottom!
Finally with a tank I got from Groove, I cut the top off and the gas cap section out and with a little more triming, ready to weld! Now there is a "Lot" of room for someone of "My" Size!
I now need to take the bike to Gebler (Makes MASCAR Headers fame) for a 2.25 inch straight pipe that will stay below the swingarm and clear the rear fairing. I will then reinforce the seat in the mounting areas and paint the seat the same green with the purple on the bottom the match the fairing an then mount the NOS Bottle and system! So far total cost $400. My plan is to do it all for $1,000 with the deal for the NOS my Step son got! More Later.

Thanks Dan! I went to school for 1 year at Maxton and plan to see what I learned on Graduation day! I even have a new suit to wear! Now as long as it works out, there will be joy in Speed Ville!

Good luck to all of you that are going to Maxton, I wish I could be up there to ride with you guys, but too many irons in the fire right now...I amy get to swing up there and watch you guys though, that would be cool....

No production, even at maxton. That is why I got the extra frame and gastank so that in November, I can put it back for the street riding in Daytona. Bergie, the Tail section is "Truly" not made for a 12! It is an expirment on my part. The Short story is a friend of mine in Toledo wife is the sister of the person that makes this and I an doing a "LOT" of cutting to get it over the tank and then making a new seat section which I will fiberglass into the section! Look at Jon's bike and see the wierd relocation of the foot pegs, it is because this does not fit! You know CAN'T is not a word I can use and I must make it 2 to 4 inches lower to work. Once finished in October, I will be sending it back for him to make a mould so that other 12 owners will not need to go through what I am doing!
If you look at Mr. Motorcycle's bike, you will see no gas tank! Same here! Just look at the pictures of everyone on 12's, (even Dan's son) and we are all to high in front! Specially me

Well..I meant are you going to be able to run in the MPS classes...or are those mods going to put you into the partial streamliner classes?

It is a Kellison GT40 Kit car with a Turbo Chevy Corvair engine I "stopped" work on in 1969! The car under the cover is the 1076 Porsche 911s my wife hit the tree at over 130 when she got cut off! It is in very good condition and when I got over being broke, I am putting a new front end on the car!

hehe, sittin there since 69. that's too funny i'm amazed it isnt a big pile of rust flakes by now. it would be in my part of the world. looks very trick in any case. i'm a fan of kit cars myself. why spend $20,000 on a blah lookin and performing car everyone else has, when u can spend $15,000 and get a real trick lookin car that can blow pretty much everyone on the street away, and feels right at home on a race track? plus i just love th eprocess of puttin em together. a holdover from my Lego days i guess

I started to answer it for M/F or M/G I can leave the tank as it is, but I think i will have to go back to my other seat I used at Daytona in the 80's
Fabrication myself! The shorter you are on money, the more time you can find to do the work yourself! Lucky I can do the work and have a little skill in the area of Fiberglass and welding sheet metal! (Cut and Flared "Butt welded the Turbo fenders on the Porsche also)

This is the aluminum I am using to make the Seat mold so the Aero Seat will fit a tall ZX12R
Now to turn it over, clean up the underside, then use spray adhesive to hold the wax paper in place, then spray a little filled primer on the Wax paper, Clean up everything again and then cut out the mat Glass, mix up the Polyester and then with a Paint Brush and squeege make a new seat bottom while glueing it to the main seat. Once this is done and shaped, I will mix some Epoxy: and use a sheet of heavy woven glass and put another layer over the new seat bottom and reinforce the several other areas that I will use to mount the seat.
Please also note that I have now finished cutting fitting and cleaning the edges of the fuel tank, now ready to weld. (I have also finished the sub frame mods now ready for welding!)

I think I might know the very place As you can see, this "Aero Seat" is not a "Bolt on" option! After the glass and reinforcements at the mounting area, the bottom right will go together "OK", but the lower right (Shifting side) I will be making a mould to extend that side forward about 5 inches to flair it into the main fairing and be the lower mount!
My only problems right now other than Money are "Time, Talent and Tiredness! Old Age will slow your progress down! Do it when you are young!
Thanks HDL! A little differently than my first venture to Maxton exactly 1 year ago at the end of this month, I am letting everyone that wants to know what I am up to and sink or Swim it will be there for everyone to see! For me, this will be graduation day and we will all see if I learned anything over the year I gave myself for learning!

Latest Pics on where I am so far! Aero Tail section Finished!
Fuel Tank Finished!
Exhaust Pipe Finished! I asked for a slip clamp but he welded this one! If he had welded it about 4 inches farther back (even 2 inches farther) it would have been perfect! ALso you can see that I have started on the NOS! I am going to raise the tank about 1/5 inches, mount all of my electronics in the normal frame positions and make an aluminum tray under the tank to mount the ECU & PC3r
I am too old for these long days working on this stuff! I "Plan" to be finished with the "Electronics" and the tray tomorrow night. Finish "Mounting" the NOS Tuesday Night. Finish the painting Wednesday night. Finish wiring the NOS Thrusday Night and pich up the other NOS Tank and have the one I have filled. I am tanking the day off of work Friday and put the bike in the van and put a clutch on the AC Compressor and get a "little" sleep before the drive to Maxton! I am also taking Monday off to recover!

Holy-Moly, Vincent! Is there anyhing you HAVEN't modified rear of the engine???? Looks really good; bunch o' work in that tail cowling, eh?! I wish you had another week to dyno test/tweak yr N2O.
