HELP...WON'T START!
...off-12R-topic...I replaced my KLR650 handlebars with an aftermarket O'Neil...straight-forward swap...now the bike won't start...it has electricals ie. turn sigs, headlight, horn, guage lights...but it won't start...am I missing something?

Hmm...Check the ignition kill switch. This is a NO contact, perhaps it's shorted?

...uh...what do you mean by NO contact?...is it not supposed to contact anything during handlebar relacement?...if it shorts out, is it a fuse short or a switch short?

It's normally open. When you press it, you short the coil out.

FIXED!!!! ...note: when changing handlebars, try not to take apart the clutch safety switch (dunno why I had to do that:o)...I was staring at the garage floor in disgust and, as luck would have it, found a little 1/8 inch long ball-point looking spring staring back at me amongst the dog hair debris...hmmm....what this?...so I insert it with dialectic grease into a slot under the contact pin on the lever assembly...it preloads the contact pin against the potted contact strip on the harness...viola!...bike starts!...BAJA HERE I COME!
