I rang my local dealer down here in Australia and they said that they got the information today in written form from kawasaki and they was give December at the due date, They are expecting Kx 250f in 2weeks and the new big cruiser VN2000 in a couple of days. So I don't think they jump the gun but they did say power and weight wont be released till october.

Impressive....

I'm impressed by it, but I will remain skeptical about the performance until some comparison test are done between the Kaw and the Gixxer. I really feel the engine will, at a minimum, be on par with the Suzuki, maybe even surpass it by a couple bhp, but my main concern is handling. Will they have done their homework and have the chassis sorted out? I really hope so, and for several reasons. One of them being that I want to see Eboz kick Mat Mladin's punk ass next year.

as i read it, the exhaust system is all TI already, except for the skin on the can. which seems prettty stupid to me. cant think of a reason for doing that, specially since it makes for an ugly can IMHO.

Notice how the USA isnt getting the flush front turn signals. Were getting the larger front and rear signals just like we did on the 12r.
The adjustable back torque clutch will be nice.
We wont get the anti-theft here either from what I read.
The light wheels will be nice.

Looks like all that will be needed for the exhaust is a nice bolt on can. There using the varriable collector like the rest of the field.

No mention of a closed loop FI system. Thats a disapointment. It would be real nice to have the ECU get realtime feed back on conditions and adjust the fuel and timing. Drop in a cotton gauze airfilter or change the Can, and the ecu makes the changes, no dynoing, no having to mess with tables etc. Looks like honda will continu to lead the way in that area.
I'll have to wait and see the new 1000 honda and see what tricks they pull.

Notice the stroke is 55 mm ! the zx12r is 55.4 mm The gsxr is 59 mm.

So once again Kawi opts for the big bore and short stroke optimised for more HP and less midrange torque.
It should make a few more ponies up top than the gsxr1000 but be a few ft lbs less torque below 8000 rpm. You know the cams have long duration because of the high static compression they are advertising. I'd say they are more radical cams than the 12r.
Hopefully they have larger dia followers for the cams than the 12r has so bigger cams can be a viable option.
Gotta like the billet cams. They autta be quite a bit lighter. Hopefully thier keeping the oil out of them!!
Was hoping for a belt final drive! It doesnt look like thier ready to jump to that yet.
No mention of a counter balancer?
How about a steering damper? I wonder what the rake and trail are?

good it will make as much power as the 1000 in stock form but unlike the suzuki it will take a stroker crank and bigbore kit !!

Well, we'll see what it'll do.

Considering how 'uncompetitive' Kawi has been in MotoGP and also considering how pressed they are for R&D budget, if *I* were Kawasaki I'd do this: Develop the 10R as 'MotoGP' but get it ready for production.

I wonder if that's what they are doing? If they are doing that you'd think they'd be able to come out swinging at Zook's Gix 1k. And hit 'em square in the jaw.

They can't afford to miss, boys.

Ok this may be a dumb question but How and the hell would you be able to do a stroker motor with the solid Block/Upper case set up?? only thing from what I have been told about the older hondas with the same set up was they could bore it but it was a bitch!

US Spec version in real life, with fullsize signals but they look fully interchangable with the euro version (same side panels).

That back-torque limiting clutch will take some of the fun out of setting up for the corner. I kinda like the parachute wobble effect. Its fun getting the reaction from people you havent ridden with before when you pull in somewhere for a drink after the ride was heating up. Usually it starts with the guy on the R6... "what the fuck dude... thats a zx12 ?" I guess It'll just need more back brake.
I like all the colors, they all will match the Vansons, but black is stealthiest isnt it?
