Doods: Got busted - HARD!

Otis and Rick, you think you mother fuckers got it hard? Try this:

I just got out of the fuckin' drunk tank. Blew a .149 Arkansas legal limit for throw you ass under the jail and don't ask about your license is .150. Yeah. It's like that.

Mandatory 6 month suspension if .150 and shit. Dood.

So, not really sure what's going to happen. Got busted running 87 in a 45 (again) in the same fookin' spot where I got busted before doing 90 in a 45. Again - on a Friday night. You'd think I'd learn by now.....

Hope I'm off probation in the city of LR by now. Oh, shit. Maybe I'm not. Well, I might have missed it by a couple of weeks. Ain't that a bitch?

If I miss probation I'll basically have two more wreckless driving tickets for 90 in a 45 put on my record.

I just might be in deep shit.

Anyway - court date is the Monday we get back from DGVI so I'll be running around with a fookin' sheet o paper instead of a driver's license. Ain't that another bitch?

Well, suppose my trusty lawyer will help me out - if there is a helping out.

Guys, at this point I'm not sure I'll be driving anywhere, much less DGVI. Or else it just might be my last "Hoorah I'll Never Drive Again Anyway So Fuck It" ride.

*sigh*

Jon,
Man I hate to hear this dude, it sucks for sure. I feel for you brother, honestly I do. I can relate to what you are going through. Definitely put your attorney to good use and have your ducks in a row before your hearing.

Though I am not the biggest fan of attorneys, they can be a lifesaver in cases like this. One of my best friends is an attorney and I never ever hired him for anything until about a year ago. I did so upon his request, actually he demanded I do so. I just figured I wouldn't tax our friendship with my troubles, he didn't see it that way. He rolled up his sleeves and did a lot of stuff for me, and proved a very good point. An attorney that knows the game, has connections, and is willing to go the extra distance for his client is a wonderful thing.

Odds are your attorney, once he has all the facts, can pretty much tell you your fate. Hopefully it won't be as bad as you think. Think positive........

not wanting to be an asshole..but WTF were you doing driving while pickled?

let's see where i live .10 is the limit. many places .08 is the limit
.149 is not just a 'light buzz'

personally if you decide that you are going to drive/ride drunk, i DON'T want to ride/drive near you. i just pray that noone is unfortunate to be on the highway when you are going out there like an idiot.

i agree, get some help. but probably not the help these guys are suggesting

the help i suggest you get is some sort of rehab for the alcohol abuse. or maybe get a card that has the taxi company's number, with a 20 stapled to it.
that way your drunk ass isn't out there doing f(*(*ing 80+ in a damned 45.

and oh

DO IT BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEONE
or yourself.
or anybody with the poor judgement to ride with you when you are drunk off your ass.

Geoff and Slug: Well, you guys are right. I was being stupid and I know how lucky I am that it isn't worse than it is.

I can't - and won't - argue with you all because you are right.

Tough crowd......

Guys I think this incident will make Jon realize a few things. No, I am not approving of drinking and driving, just saying what is done,....is done. I'm sure if he could turn the clock back and do it over again, he would. Lighten up on him if you can, he will learn from this and conduct himself in an appropriate manner in the future.

jonwright - it happens. Thankfully you did not hurt yourself or god forbid somebody else. That doesn't mean you get chastised for the rest of your life. Pay the fine, do the time, get your shit together and don't do it again.

Maybe your "pennance" should be to ride bitch with one of your buddies to the event you planned to go to. Bet that would hurt huh? Peace.

sorry to be a downer, but given the seriousness of the situation, i feel i gotta be straight. i aint gonan give u all the "what were u thinking?" shit cause u'v already got it & said u realize what u did was stupid. but what i will add is this: dont let that realization fade over time. to often we do something stupid or careless etc, learn our lesson good & swear not to do it again, but over time the "lesson" fades & we return to our old ways. u have to make a conscious effort to remember the lesson. at the VERY least, if u drive home with a drink or 2, but still think ur within the limit, take it easy & drive home at the speed limit.

sorry to be preachy, but like i said, it's too important to worry about comin across as an ass. hope u make it thru the court proceedings ok.

I'm not trying to get sympathy - I screwed up and I'll pay the price. As I said, I am thankful that it wasn't any worse than it is (hurting myself or, God forbid, someone else).

It's not that I make a habit of this. Once is all it takes.

Not sure if I'll be selling the 12 or not. If I do, Josh, I'll let you know. I do have some nice goodies.

My question is if you have been drinking, then why wouldn't you be "More" Careful that if you had not been drinking! Personally, I am glad you have not hurt yourself! We are already having trouble getting over Don's death! We sure as hell do not want to post your pic on the front page!! Stop fooling around and get straight!!

Not that it would make it any more "right" or excuse your actions, but is this your FIRST DUI?

I think that some here might be misunderstanding and believe that you other recent violations also involve alcohol. If I remember correctly, they do not.

Am I correct on this?

Sherm, you are right. My other infractions involve speeding.

Vince, you are right. But I think this also underlines how screwed up your (or at least my) thinking can get when you've been drinking. And I was thinking "Well, I feel okay and I haven't really had THAT much...." which isn't a good test at all.

Thing that really kills me is that my friend offered to let me crash at his pad.

Guys, believe me when I tell you that I may joke around about a lot of things but I am not making light of this. Besides just knowing I gotta pay the Man I have been kicking myself in the ass for my stupidity. And my payment is coming.

And you know, it's just stuff like: when I picked up my Durango from the impound yard my Oakley sunglasses were missing as well a couple of CD's. Someone also was listening to my CD's to figure out what they wanted to steal because the CD I was listening to when I got busted wasn't in the player when I checked out my truck. Little Rock police answer? "Fill out this complaint form. We'll call you."

Not really a bitch, but more of a 'Welcome to the Machine' feeling. Congratulations. You are now a criminal.

dont know where you live

around here you would have to appear b4 the magistrate
post bond...... then you would b assigned a court date
usually 4 - 6 weeks away

you can also ask for 1 or 2 continuances......
from the initial court date
further extending sometmes the inevitable...but buying you more time

in addiction only convictions within the probation period counts
so with a bit of finaglin ...... you gain a little wiggle room
no doubt your atty will know what & how.....

good luck

I'm not going to get on you about this Jon, cause by reading what you've wrote, you don't sound defensive at all and recognize the potential danger you put yourself and others in. I'm sure you'll think a bit harder about it next time you're drining. Get a good attorney and good luck.
