Any tips on carving a motorcycle seat?
Any tips on carving a seat to lower the seat height? Specifically what tool(s) would you recommend to anyone who has done this (carving the foam)......

I did it once on the gixxer i did cut it from under the seat to ovoid any bad look.
I did it with an old wide electric Hair cutter..

I cut my seat with my wife's electric knife. Worked better on foam than it does on a turkey.

Didn't have a electric knife so I used a wire wheel on a drill motor. you'll need a mask and glasses, shit will fly everywhere. Lay out the shape with a felt tip marker beforehand. Get a frim grip and a good rest for your forearms and take a small ammount at a time.
No matter what you use, once your done, use a belt sander to smooth it out. Heavy grit(50-100) at first then touch up with a finer grit(200). Works like a charm, and no lumpy seat cover when your finished.

all carved... a corse toothed hack saw werked nicely cept took so much meat off the thing we now need to get a new cover.

scooter, that vision is scary. how do you gut a deer with a chainsaw??? LOL..... I used a Razor knife worked great!

oh it has to be very sharp though. brand new one...and fish put the cover back over it should strech ok. mine did.

I took the foam out completely for my drag seat. I can hardly tell the difference....except on long rides

Well...I will say ive ridden on better seats than the 12s.....but a Lazyboy it aint
Probably why I dont notice the difference much
