HMF vs MICRON
Anyone have dyno chart numbers on HMF vs Micron exhaust? Any information regarding experiences with either exhaust would be appreciated.
Thanks guys!

JUST WHAT YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR
Well dude, it *just so happens* that I witnessed both pipes,....on two 12R's, both red 2000 models,....one with something like 4000 miles and one with 5000 miles. The 4k mile one (my own bike) had the PCIIIR, and the other bike did not have any power commander.
I have the HMF pipe, and my friend had the Micron. (this was just in the summer, when the Serpent was rumoured to be coming. His was the normal Micron.)
It was at Mid-Ohio, and my friends bike turned 181.7 HP and my bike turned 182.2 HP.
The runs are actually on video, and I have pics too, not to mention the dyno chart.
Sure, the dyno was reading a little high, but the point is,.....that the bikes are within HALF a damn horsepower.
I think the Micron sounds better though. That's just my preference.

Thanks BA that's the kind of useful information I am looking for. It's always a tough decision and I know some of it comes down to personal preference. I'm leaning toward the HMF but I can't seem to get the Micron out of my mind!
Thanks again...I really appreciate the feedback!

How does the HMF sound on the 12?? I heard the HMF pipe on Yannick's Busa and it sound fuckin' AWESOOOME!! If it sounds like that on the 12, I'd love to have it!

Hawkman I love the sound of my HMF. I do agree with BA about the Micron sounding just slightly better. Althuogh if I was doing all over I would get the HMF again.

i have'nt dynoed my 2000 12r yet i want to get the pc3r with block off plates and k&n's.do it all at one time. anyway the micron is outstanding in everyway.buy it.i know it's not the serpant but my head pipes at the exhaust flanges are smaller for the first 2 " then the pipes get bigger.the design and build are impeckable (as in budgie). you can buy differant colored can sleaves.they change in 10 mins. tops.repacking is a breez when you need to.the sound is perfect.deep and mean not too loud. ask speedcraver or eric00zx12r how my bike runs seeya ...killer

WANT TO HEAR AN HMF PIPE?
If you go to www.zx-12r.org, and look on the left side of the page, down a little, there's a link for "motorcycle movies".
Click it, wait for it to load, then on the right hand scroll bar, scroll down a little.
You'll see a movie file called BA 9.34 Drag Run, or something like that. It's not linkable so I can't paste it in here for ya, but it's only 3MB and you can hear what a HMF pipe on a 12R sounds like going down the track.
