More info on the last AMA race of the year at Barber Motorsport Park in Birmingham, AL.
Here's a link to the area hotels
http://www.barbermuseum.org/hotels.htm
We are staying at the Best Western Rime Garden Inn & Suites. The hotel is about 7.5 miles from the track (270 miles from the Smack House in Townsend) We got a two bedroom suite for $89 a night and will be there Friday and Saturday nights. You can get a regular room online at
http://www.bestwesternrime.com/
You can get your tickets online at
https://www.southtix.com/chevytrucksuperbike_tickets.html
We got the 3 day admission for $40 and the $10 Paddock Pass. Even though we're going to be there for just Saturday and Sunday, the 3 day ticket is $20 cheaper (no Sat/Sun tickets available).
There's no seating. The ticket says, SECTION: LAWN SEATS: General Ad. "LAWN" means hillside and hilltop lawn seating. First come, first served (or seated). They say to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Concession stands will be available. Coolers are allowed, no glass containers.
Here's the schedule:
Track opens 7:30am each day.
Friday 8:30am
Practice and qualifying.
Saturday 8:00am
Practice and qualifying
AMA Superbike Race 1 (100k)
Superstock race (60k)
Sunday 9:00am
Practice
US Supersport Championship (60k)
250 Grand Prix (60k)
USA Formula Xtreme (60k)
AMA Superbike Race 2 (100k).

Redelk, are you bringing your bike? We plan to trailer our bikes up there and ride to the race.
BTW, what part of Arkansas do you live in? I was in Little Rock a couple of weeks ago to visit the inlaws.

We'll have our bikes with us since we are going straight from DGVI to Barber. As for riding to the race, that will be a tough call. I guess will figure that out when we get there.
Born, raised and still living in Little Rock.

I have quantity one, full access, carte blanche pass. This is not a "Paddock Pass". It is an "everywhere" pass. It gets you everywhere a mechanic can go, even out to the pre-grid/racetrack. You go anywhere. When you get to the track, you take this pass to the AMA Trailer and sign-in as my guest.
I'll give it up to the person with the best story as to why they should get it. If you're interested, let the stories begin.

This site does not have the bandwidth to sustain one of my diatribes of mental dribbling (and begging). If you think the worm virus was bad, my post would be so long (not very interesting or entertaining though), it would bring the whole internet down.
Anyway, I guess it wouldn't be fair for forum moderators (with the "power" to edit or delete post on a whim - not making any kind of threat or anything like that...) to "participate" in such a contest.
Darn!

I vote you give it to Elk.
....cause if he has it I'll kick his ass and take it from him.
Dood, that is awesome! Wish we could get more passes like that......
I'm in Little Rock as well.

Ok. Shortest contest in history. redelk, e-mail your mailing address and I'll send it out today. Remember, your going as my guest. So no streaking, no doing weird things to animals, no sabotaging Ben or Miguel because I need them to win this race, etc... kbryant@jardineproducts.com
I usually give one of these passes to someone every National. It really is cool to see people pass through gates that they would normally have to stop at. Ya just look at the security guards, flash your pass, and boogie on through! Enjoy!

jonwright - you have some luv coming from redelk. You are one lucky SOB to have someone who obviously enjoys the rare gift of giving, instead of receiving. Enjoy.
And oh, same rules apply to you. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.... No wait, that's bad advice. Represent and behave yourself; kinda...

Dood - you just served up the biggest setup I've seen on the board for trash talking. But I won't.
K, you are awesome, man.
Thanks for putting the passes out there for us. You know, I just WOULD NOT bust off in the paddock area, act like I'm Mr. Jardine, and 'inspect' Miguel's pipe by pissing it it.
Nope. Wouldn't do that.
Actually, we are all older guys that act like damned kids sometimes but we're a pretty calm bunch.
Elk is a damned fine man. He is always willing to help another rider - whether it's wrenching or helping a dude in the ditch.
Fastest I've ever seen Sherm run when we encountered a guy that had just slid off the road in the rain one day. He late braked my butt so hard I thought he was Rossi getting ready to back it in the curve - I didn't even see the poor guy 'till Sherm put his bike on his side stand and was running toward the ditch.
Every one who knows him agrees - he'd give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. And not bitch about it later.
This 'community' out here is blessed to have Sherman McCoy moderate and be a part. I'm espeically blessed in that I live right down the road from him and get to ride with him often.

Well my, my... Mr. Wright. You sure do know how to kill a thread, don't you? "Fine man"? "Blessed"? "NOT BITCH ABOUT IT LATER"?!?!?!
Yeah? Whatever.
Thanks for the pass, kb. JW won't be much of a challange for any of the rest of us to simply kick his scrawny ass and take it away from the unworthy punk.

Bitch, please. I was really hoping K would give the tickets to you so I'd have an excuse to kick YOUR ass.
Besides, you damned chain smoker. All I'd have to do is run ten feet and you'd fall out from exhaustion. Kick my ass? You'd have to catch me first, Carl Lewis neverbe.
