Speed TV to drop motorcycle coverage?
With the reduced coverage of AMA and WSB events, it seems inevitable that next season's programming will likely drop motorcycle coverage completely. What do ya think?

I was able to work outside all day Sunday! Tuesday I will be checking on them but not spending much time there. This is Political! Blamed on the Bad economy Someone send Mr. Bush a note at his ranch to bring back Motorcycles  I could not help myself!!

Geeze...........that would suck! I think though that Greg White guy is a little annoying but I have no problem putting up with him rather than the possible alternative!

Bummer. Hope you're wrong. I recently read an interview with the head honcho from Speed in one of the motorcycle industry mags about how happy they were with the viewership numbers. Small, but healthy. Keep our fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed? When motorcycle coverage on TWT is virtually nil? More like keep your legs crossed and stand up straight!

Opinions vary, but Greg is actually a pretty good guy and a really good rider. You just have to get through the "show-biz" part of his personna.

I just read in Roadracing World that the guy making the programming decisions (I can't remember his name) is a rider from way back and will bend over backward to keep motorcycle shows in the schedule. At the same time, he qualified that with a statement about financial reality. In short, it seems to be up in the air.

Up in the air hell!! I didn't see a single WSB, AMA, or Moto GP race at the normal time they run. I try to stay out all weekend and catch the races on Tuesday night if I miss them. Not anymore..... :-(
Only reason I have DirecTV too......

I read in a car magazine that another company is in the process of creating another Speedvision type channel (including motorcycle coverage). Apparently somebody noticed the void left when Speedvision became the "Redneck Racing Channel"

heh
yeh i noticed tha last few and next few tuesdays are strictly 5 hours of motorcycle racing. yesterday we got coverage form brands hatch and sachsenring, which is OLD news. granted i hadn't seen the races yet...but still.
they do seem to be covering the live events with one hour each....not sure if it is live or a delay. (wouldn't want to miss out on the re-run of nascar in review now would we?!)

Yeah, but i work 9-5 everyday. My family knows every Tuesday nite that the TV is MINE!! I guess I need to hook that stinking VCR back up....I hate that :-(

That "Windtunnel" thing bores me to death. They should call it "Tunnel Vision" But they are for sure slowly dropping motorcycles more and more so I think we should all email them and show our dissapointments. I always raced home from work to turn on the TV for Two Wheel Tuesays! and all me kids know that I'm into a trance for about 6 hours every Tuesday!

I propose the ABN (All Bike Network) It covers RoadRacing, Motocross, Enduro, Hillclimb, Supermoto, Ice Racing you name it! Hell, give the Harley guys air time too! Could cover saturday night bar crawls, and have a couple old farts talk about the skankiest whore they ever took to bed, etc.  Of course, All Bike Network is just the 'official' name. It really stands for ANYTHING BUT NASCAR.

Heck yeah!! With a combination of the Honda Hoots, Bikeweeks all over the country, rallies, Sturgis, and other motorcycle events.....looks like a few TV crews could be pretty busy. Also, use the down times for movies like Easy Riders, etc.
Not to mention dedicated AMA Prostar racing, Stunt riding, ArenaCross, the Dakar Rally, FIM, SBK, AMA, the Texas Shootout [(Shameless plug :-) ]
Dang, I'd be stuck on that channel.......A heck of a place for the dedicated motorcycle accessory vendors to advertise........ Ron Ayers, Muzzy, Progresssive, all the manufacturers, Corbin, DID, PJ1,...the list goes forever
OK, which one of you rich guys wants to start it up?!?
