Fellow Rider Down
Rick DeMorgan, fellow Little Rock rider, has crashed and is in the hospital. Rick is one of the best riders I know around here and is almost always up for a good ride.
He wrecked his Busa merging into traffic locally. He looked over his shoulder, checked traffic, and then managed to rear end a stopped car entering the freeway.
He has no cartilidge in both knees. Both ankles are broken and they still aren't sure if they can save his left foot. His right arm is severely broken - both forearm bones were sticking through his leather jacket. Multiple breaks in his right arm.
He will undergo surgery two more times this week - they need to clean out the dead tissue from his arm while they keep reconstructing his bones and add more screws.

I think Jonathan would agree that he is one of the, if not THE fastest, most talented rider in our group.
When Jonathan, I and couple other of our riding buddies went to visit him this morning, he was in amazingly good spirits. At least good enough to keep the ole Elkster's smack talk in line.
Right now, we're praying for him to just be able to keep all his appendages. I figure if we make it that far, it will be a piece of cake for him from there. He's strong, both physically and emotionally and we all know that's a big help.

Almost happened to me in Toronto rush hour. Braked hard, swerved and went down the line between 2 cars, very close. Keep your heads up out there kids.

Hey Jon, I was wondering if Rick is in the AF and if he just moved there last year from Charleston? Sounds like him because like you said one of the best riders I've seen. Anyway hope he recovers to ride another day.

I believe he's a flight engineer on a C-130 in the 50th squadron. I'm not sure when he moved here or from where.

Jonathan, Jeff, Bob, Thomas, Mike and I went to visit with Rick this morning.
Jonathan will have more details about yesterday's surgery (another one is scheduled for tomorrow), but from what I understand, everything is looking good. It looks like he'll be leaving the hospital with the same amount of body parts that he went in with.
Albeit, those parts have been poked, scraped, cut on, bandaged and rebandaged. Not for sure, but he might be getting out in a week or so. He'll get to spend about a month at home catching up on all the soap opera action and lots of daily rehab.
