Michel Hauboit back to S-F
My Friend Michel is coming back for a week 10-17 august to see us.
Michel is "Scratch-moto" the one with the badest 12 from 24 H Le Mans.
Some thing good on motorcycles to see in the bay area for that periode?

You must go to Alice's Resturant up Woodside Road/Skyline. Most Sportbike guys should know where it is (towards the beach from Redwood City). I grew up on that road/area. It's where many Northern California racers got there start. Me, Rich Oliver, Vance Breese, Dennis Pegalow, Denny Doherty, and ton's more. There's many more roads also; Stage Coach, Coast race down into Boulder Creek or Big Sur (can't remember the name of the roads?). Wow, memory lane is really coming up now. I have not been up there for over 20 years. Hell, is it still there??? I used to do about 200 miles every night, and 600 on the weekends just racing around up there. Man, those are my roots!!!
Dave can give you more sights since he's still up in the Bay Area. There's also some good riding on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge.

also the saturday infinion dragrace.
This year his team raced the z1000 and normaly the zx9 and 7.

God, I used to own those roads around Alice's... With all due respect to those who inspired me (Vance, Dennis, Denny, et all). First place I drug a body part (toe, 1974 Norton Commando). First place I drug a knee, 1977 on a Z1B with Michelin M45 front, Dunlop KR91 rear. Man that's when the revolution started. Where are my brothers from that era!!???
Ok, open challange! Anyone drag a knee before that (on the street)???? Crashes don't count!

no offence to kbryant.... but the last time I ate at Alice's the food SUCKED and the bathroom was a portable! Stop there for a photo, then if ya wanna eat continue south on that road to Adelitas..... great Mexican food... plus there's a tree inside.. (kinda cool)

what else is new? Food at Alice's has sucked for 20+ years.
My suggestion is to continue down Hwy. 84 toward the beach, stop in La Honda for breakfast at "The Merry Prankser." Great food, good portions for the eaters among us, & mid-late 60's theme music/visuals.
Then 84 to the beach, South on 1 to Pescadareo Road, & loop back to Alice's that way...one of my W. Bay favorites...

Honestly, in the 6 or 7 years I was going there, I never ate at Alice's. We just used the parking lot as our meeting & bullshit place (along with the start/finish line...). All I ever wanted to do was suck people into racing at the time. Sometimes I wonder how I ever survived that period of my life... I probably had 7 or 8 huge crashes up there and lived to tell about it. Vance Breese finally grabbed me and told me to get on the racetrack and if he ever saw me again up there, he'd kick my ass. Scared the shite out of me. I think it was 4 years of racing before my first "race track" crash.
Anyway, sounds like Dave's got the right idea.
