Suspension upgrade
I have finished installing Race Tech Gold valves and springs in my '00 12.Went for a ride last weekend in southwestern Wisconsin.For those who have never been there, it is sport bike heaven (at least in WI).I have never been so confident in the corners. I have installed Race Techs suspension in a handful of dirtbikes with pretty good results. My only regret is that I changed to BT-010 tires (from 207's)at the same time so I am sure that messed up my feedback.Next week I will be at Road America for my first track days so I can really put it to the test.

The kit's not too bad. The decision to make is whether to do it yourself (which mrfast obviously has no prob doing) or send them down to Racetech. You can go to www.racetech.com and price out the springs and gold valves.

Yea, what SWFT said, they have a great web sight. I work at a Kaw shop so I get them at cost +10%. The tricky part of the ZX12 is compressing the fork springs.Re-assembly is almost impossible without the proper tool.Race Tech sells one for about $125 or about $250 from Kawasaki.(Race techs works fine)If you are mechanically inclined and have experience with fork and shock maintenance then you can do it yourself. If not, send them out!

Mrfast....world of difference in the ride, eh? So nice going over ripples, bumps, imperfections in the road silky smooth. My bike used to jump around like an over inflated basketball. Once you change the rear shock...you can really wrangle the bike around on ANY surface without fear!

If I do the Race Tech equipment, I will buy the kit and take it to Kevin and have him put it in and set it up.....After my expierence with mechanic(and I use that term loosely) around here, there are only a few people that will put a wrench to my bike. It just sucks that Kevin is way down there in Jax...Guess i need to move closer...lmao

HDL..there is a really good suspension guy in Deland. He would have you done in a few hours. (provided you had the parts in hand and nothing else was needed)

Oh no more burn outs for a while (not much anyway). I went through the 190 tire in 3 months or so.

Deland, FL is near Daytona...actually about 30miles from it.
He does Moto X suspension and travels alot. Has his own mobile shop and does trackside rebuilds.

Track days are history,I think that was the most fun I have ever had on a Motorcycle! The bike felt very good although I really suck at road tracks.The 1270 helps with the long straights at Road America.My next bike will get revalved and sprung immediately! I really enjoyed wrestling that tank around the track.260 miles in 2 days!If anyone is interested in running a track day, check out sportbiketracktime.com. They have a great program with 3 classes,I ran the novice class the first day and learned a lot in a pretty safe environment. Day 2 I ran in intermediate and had a ball.Those guys get pretty crazy but you can always stay in the back and run your own race.
