FBG Battery

Here are the specs of the 3 Batteries I'm looking at:

length Width Height LBS Kg CCA
YTX20-BS 18 6-7/8 3-5/16 6-1/6 11.2 5.1 270
YTX14-BS 12 6 3-1/2 5-13/16 8.4 3.8 200 Stock
FBG PB-1 6-7/8 3-1/4 5-1/8 11.8 545

The FBG has an incredible 545 CCAs so that would be great if I can get it to fit. I've read serveral posts indicating that it can be done, so I'm wondering if someone could provide the gory details.

Thanks,

fbg has 545 cca's but only for 5 sec or so, then it reverts to 230??? or something like that.

making it fit isn't too bad as long as you don't mind modding the battery tray and moving a few cables. Not too bad. The "details" are harder to explain than to perform, but no special smarts or special tools are required; hell even I did it!

BTW,
The "FastByGast" Battery ain't made by FBG, and the same red battery (Odyssey, minus FBG sticker) can be ordered/purchased at any Interstate Battery Store.

I'm not pushing biz away from FBG, great folks! but the Interstate battery folks got me what I needed FAST!

Mike..is that a dry cell battery?? I was under the impression thats what the FBG battery was... that it could be mounted in any direction..etc.

Mike, I need a HD battery for my GPz. Its an 85 Turbo with the sensor. Any recommendations? The ignition runs almost at a total loss.

Yes it is a dry cell, and steve I will check for you in the morning. I still dont understand why you guys are having problems, I race the shit out of my High compression 1361 and I actually have a smaller YTX12-BS in my bike right now as a spare, and have never had a problem? and my bike gets way hot near the end of the day. I am going to try and put the YTX20 in there this week and if the wiring all works I will give you a shout...

Mike,
I bought a new ytx14-bs 3 months ago, but it died while Cyclebarn was attempting to diagnose my engine problems. Is there any chance the battery never fully recovered?
