I've installed MANY PCs on most makes/models of bikes and have not had a single one go bad yet...

Well with 21 responses we have 6 people w/failures = 29%. Better than I thought but still bad IMHO. Let's wait a few days & see if we get any more responses....

Dave of all of the people that I know around Ft Stewart, and the Hinesville area and of all the guys that I have been introdeced to, I have heard of one PC going bad. It was on a Zx12R. No I am by no means the all knowing and ever so wise motorcycle PC guru. But IMO a pc is to valuable to go with out. WOuld you do a tune up with out replacing sparkplugs? Would you flush a fuel system and use the old filter? I know these are far out comparisons, but why spend so much on a bike, spend even more on extras, and not include the piece that brings them all together.....like I said just my opinion, and we all know what opinions are worth...

How did you found out that the PC3r was dead?

Per the poll we have at least a 1 in 4 failure rate (25%), & this is exactly why I have never bought one. To me a couple ponies are not worth the chance of losing the reliability (I currently have) as I sometimes take short, weekend trips into the mountains.
Is this not a good reason to question the product, & the customer service ability of a vendor?

Bike runs like the choke is stuck on, lots of black smoke .
unplug pc and it runs clean.
Plug in runs like she-it, unplug runs good.
No doubt where the problem lies.

hmm, I would have never guessed that they were having that many problems....but I dont run a PCIIIR, or even a PC III..I am running the PCII, anyone think, there is a difference in reliability? Just a thought..the one guy I knew that was having problems was running a III. Any thoughts?

Just like with computers that you are well aware of, Dave, the more changes and tweaks you make the more chances of something breaking. Pretty simple.
Don't get something for nothing.
And if'n ya don't want to muck around with reliability the trade off is less HP. Usually.
