Klotz 10-30 synthetic oil

Hi guys.....I forgot to mention something which I found to be helpful this past summer, making a hp or two more and smoothing things out. I changed over to Klotz 10-30 full synthetic oil for the engine. It's red in colour and I really like, it creates less friction, being lighter. You will notice a difference in the way your motor spins up.
Note - Klotz has been around for a long time, they make quality products. It will not hurt your motor, mines a 1270 and purrs fine....Just change it more often, say every 1000 miles or so.
Cheers,
Cliff

If you are looking for outright *pour in* horsepower, ALiSYN 0 weight oil is one of the best there is. A friend of mine picked up 1.8 hp on the dyno with it. Good stuff, but expensive!

I'll have to agree with using synthetic oil, Cliff.

I just put some Golden Spectro in my bike at the last oil change. This is the first time I have ever used synthetic oil and it made a HUGE difference.

All the Kawi's I've ever owned (including the 12R) make a clunk when you drop it in 1st from idle. That sound has disappeared. Another strange thing I noticed is that I can now shift all the way to 6th gear just sitting still. I've never seen that before, either. The one thing that I DON'T like is that now neutral is difficult to find.

The bike seems to rev up faster (is that possible?!? - Ha Ha!) and the gearbox is silky smooth - and it wasn't exactly rough before.

In short - I'm sold on synthetic now. I can now justify the price difference.
