A ride to the service is being organized by Dave Alexander, Don's oldest and closest friend. Don had expressed the wish for friends to ride their bikes to his funeral a long time ago, and Dave wants to honor that request. Anyone in the area that would be interested, let me know (swft@charter.net) and I'll make sure you get the info. The service will be this Saturday at 11:00.

My favorite post of his that still makes me chuckle to this day was when there was a troll out on LABusas challenging folks to a race - any time and any place for pink slips.

Zhool was quick to call BS and put his money where his mouth was. God, the whole thing was hilarious with all the smack talk that commenced.

I poked around and couldn't find it.

Well said, frEEk.

Don was my best friend.
Last time I saw him was when I gave him his lap top back after fixing the wirelss modem. He was concerned because he could post as much with his
other lap top.

swft...I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of your friend Don. I didn't have the priviledge of meeting him personally, but I could tell from his posts that he had a wonderful sense of humor and loved life.

My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. -ZXtra

I want to ride to Don's funeral - as you said Swft, it was one of his last request. And I feel strongly about honoring Don in a way that would be meaningful to him.
But, I don't know if I'll be able to ride home after Don's Funeral.

I might be too sad.

Larry...please know and let his family know that I want to be there, but unfortunately I can't. Please know that Don, his family, you, his friends, and my friends will be in my thoughts throughout that day. I truely wish to be there for Don and everyone, but I'm having some very major issues at work right now and it looks impossible. DAMN IT!!! If there is a way, I will be there. I'm so very sorry...this breaks my heart and I'm really hating my job right now.

If only I could, I'd absolutely open up my 12 WFO for that one rocket run up there.......Zhooligan-style. Everyone, please be safe and ride safe.

HOW DO YOU LIVE YOUR DASH

I read of a man who stood to speak, at the funeral of a friend,
He referred to the dates on the tombstone, from the beginning to the end,
He noted first, the date of birth, and spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all, was the DASH between those years,
For that DASH represents all the time that he spent alive on earth,
And now only those who loved him know, what that little line is worth,
For it matters not, how much we own: the cars...the house...the cash,
What matters, is how we live and love, and how we spend our DASH,
So think about this long and hard, are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left, that can still be rearranged,
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real,
And always try to understand the way other people feel,
And be less quick to anger, and show our appreciation more,
And love the people in our lives, like we've never loved before,
If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special DASH might only last a while,
So when your eulogy's being read, with your life's action to rehash,
Would you be proud of the things they say, about how you spent your DASH.

Z's probably sayin' "Hey hey HEY!....guys!...gals!...I'm OK!...you should see the roads and the dunes up here...don't even need a bike or a quad...just 'think' your ride and you're there...way way cool, man! "

...way cool, Z...save some 'thoughts' for us, okay friend?

i never met him, but his presence will be missed.

my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.

Remember THIS family we have here. it will keep all our heads above water when the flood comes. you need anything, ask. we have infinite talent and skills available. the last 2 pages are an amazing testament to this.
