gearing??
can anyone explain to me what performance do you gain by changing spocket ratio.

Have you ever ridden a Bicycle? Did it have gears? Did you ever use 1st gear where you pumped your legs a lot but did not move fast, but could climb the Hill! Then use top gear on a slight down Hill? The only difference here is you are not the engine! The lower the gear, the more you turn and can make enough power to climb a steep hill and acclelerate! The taller the gear, the faster you can go, but cannot accelerate as fast. Same Same!

What a great explanation. Instead of all the ratio mumbo/jumbo, someone finally figured out a way for almost anyone to understand. Excellent job!
