ZX12's spank Busa's at SoCal Dyno Show
Just a few notes from Saturday results. Of all bikes to show up, the 12 that everyone whined about them not buying for $8k (carbon wheels, bodywork, etc Muzzy motor) was there! In person, this bike is bitchin! Super nice guy, Kerry Ward, spanked his buddies modified Busa(s) handily. I'll have final results tomorrow and more details. Actually, I'm in 2nd place, but my motor is stock!
Overall leader is John A. - Turbo Harley FLH - 225 hp
Open Sportbike;
Kerry W. ZX12 - 186.9 hp
Kerry B. ZX12 - 175.8 hp
Funny thing. Most of the Busa crowd was questioning the dyno readout numbers. For referance, mine put out within a few 10ths of what it did at our company last week. John's Turbo H-D put out within 2 hp of what he did last week. So much for the doubters.... The dyno don't lie. Kerry W.'s bike surprised me though. Even though it has ton's of miles on the engine, I expected a much higher reading? Maybe it's "detuned" for longevity? Kerry W. did not know much about the tech side of the motor, so who knows. He just knew it was a steaming deal and layed out the cash. Smart guy!
John Noonan from JE Pistons will be there tomorrow. He should spank the Turbo Harley. Noonan expects to see minimum of 350 hp plus. Will try to post all winners tomorrow and more details.

i was just about to comment on the rather low numbers when it hit me... WTF am i doing complaining about bikes that put out over 170hp?!? i'v become so jaded reading about all these 400 and 500+ turbo bikes that i'm thinking "sub 200hp? weak!"
thats messed up.

How true.. I use mine for twisties and track days. I'm no slouch and there is absolutely no way to put the "measly" 175 hp I have to the ground. She's just too heavy and shredds the tire. And I'm not talking about the straight-aways. I think most anyone here can pull the trigger on the staights. But then again, I have a lot of respect for those non knee-draggers who do whack it WFO with 400 - 500 hp at the drag strip. Props to you guys!
