Oil question.. Mobil 1
I used tri-synthetic Mobil 1 10w-30( full synthetic ) for ever but now i can't find it anymore ,
the only one close to it is Mobil 1 super sync ( anti-wear tech )multi-vehicule formula full synthetic 10w-30.
Are they the same? with a new name
Should i change?

The only Mobil 1 I use is Mobil 1 MX4T 10W40. It meets/exceeds all the manufacturers requirements. Then again, since Fish is a paid consultant, you might want to ask him what works best with your PC3R.

The thing is if now if i change oil and i put on the mx4t 10/40 can it cause damages?

wouldnt use 1030full syn car oil if you value your clutch.

Why are you using the 10/30?? It has friction modifiers in it.
The 15/50 is the ONLY oil Id use.

Yeah,
stick to the spec of oil for the bike - best bet is to go for an oil designed for BIKES - don't use car oil, some of which has got the nasty friction modifiers (they make the oil so slippery your cutch will slip). And if you use it it will get ingrained in the plates for ever...... It's good for cars because they run dry clutches.
Goos quality fully synthetic without molybdenum disuphide (or JASO MA marked)....

So that mean that i can change it to mx4t 10/40 Mobil 1. with out any damage.?

GOZR, switching to MX4T will NOT cause any kind of problem or damage. I have used MX4T from the moment we uncreated my 12R. 45K miles later, not only do I have no problems, I still have the original clutch friction and steel plates.
Even though I choose to use this "over priced" oil, I also believe it is a tad "overkill" and just as good protection can be had with a less costly oil. If I were you, I'd do a search on "oil" and see what other's opinions are. There are several good articles and tests that probably have links to them posted somewhere in these posts.

Mobil 1 15w - 50w ( no friction modifiers ). Have used in all my bikes ( Honda 750, KZ100 LTD , GPZ1100, GSX100, ZX-11D, 00 ZX12-R. Never had an engine, clutch, or oil related problem. Never had an problems!!

Just a quick thought - are the numerous stories of failed clutches because the friction material has worn out or burnt, or is it because some people put car oil in their bike and impregnate the plates with slippery stuff?

generally the clutches fail because the steel plates get warped because the clutch gets too hot.
The lower weight oil allows more slip...and hence more heat...and sooner failure.

been using MXT4 Mobil-1 since break in on the big Ninja....
Been using Mobil-1 since 1977' in da cars...83' in the bikes...

Mobil1 was added at my first oil change and have been using it ever since and the new stuff works great. I have had NO problems with it. I have been using the new stuff since it came out earler this year...
There are reports on oils about the difference between Car oil and Motorcycle oil and the 2 reports done by indep. co. both said that there were no difference between the two....
I use the stuff in every thing that I own Bikes, truck, car and lawn mowers.

Hey, good to hear that it made a real difference for you, GOZR. I've always been a fan of it, snice the late 70's when I worked at my Dad's mobil station in NC.

Mobil one car oil is the only oil I use in all of my bikes. before Mobil one, I used Kendall GT-1 for years in my bikes with no problems or clutch slippage. Now most of the bikes I owned have been subjected to dragstrip abuse. including the Busa and 12. No abnormal noises, slippage in the clutch. Car oils are for me!

Kendall GT 1 was the "Exact same oil blend used in KalGard Bike Oil! I have never heard a complaint about that oil!
I will say this again because it is important! Mobil 1 is very slippery. It takes a while, but in a few days, it all drains into the case. The parts are dry on start up and the ticking you hear is metal to metal. if takes a little over 2 minutes to get full oil volume everywhere and the noise to go away. 50 weight takes away a little HP which is why it does not have the Mileage ingredients! The reason Mobil came out with "0"-30 wt was to reduce the time for the oil to get everywhere and stop the noise! No problem for those that ride 2 to 4 times a week, but if it is going to seit for more than 3 days, consider a different oil! (This is why I use Motul! It can sit for a month and I still hear no noise on start up!) I like Mobil's performance, but is is not for sitting around Bikes!
