Valentine One Mounting

AKA - I want to be like RedElk. I used a couple of angle brackets that are normally used for picture frames and did some modifications to make them work. This is the back of the remote display panel.

The remote control box doesn't have mounting holes in it when it is delivered, so I took apart, drilled holes in the bottom, files the heads off the screws (tight fit in there) and attached it to the twisted bracket.

The main unit is sealed in a ziplock, padded with foam, and taped tight. A little filing on the bottom of the city light helped with the clearance.

All back together and ready to go:

Thanks to Red for the installation tips. I'm still working on the display flicker. I've talked to Valentine and got a few tips so if I get a resolution you'll be the first to know.

Dave

Interesting set-up Dave, unfortunately you will find it difficult to see the warning light when the sun is high or at your back. I know this from my own V1.
Frankly, I feel the best set-up is to use the ear piece and try to remember you have it in when you get off your bike!!
Cheers,
Cliff

Maybe it's the smoke double bubble's shape

Cliff, I haven't really noticed any problem with the sun making the display difficult to see. It's almost impossible for the sun to shine directly on that part of my dash. Maybe I do need to lose that weight! In reality, I almost never look at it, anyway. So, you might have a point.

I rely on the remote audio to give me the initial warning and then I look at the display. I use a speaker from an old ChatterBox and use velcro to hold it in place. Then I use an RCA plug to act as a quick disconnect for convienence and those times of brain fade (forgetting to unhook it).

Dave, way to "do one better"! Very nice work. Good luck on figuring out the flicker. Please, keep us posted on what they have to say about it.

Good Work

Dave,
Good job I would love to get the spec's on what V1 stuff you have as well as if you are using an ear piece etc.
