SV650...DP-style

...any of you hooligans know anything about an SV650 that was modded for the dirt or DP-style motorin'?...it had knobbies and long-travel suspension...please post pic and data if ya got 'em...thanks!

...figured it'd be 'easier' to ride off road than the super large displacment DPs...more power...cheaper, too (I think)

I saw one awhile ago, but don't remember where. Some guy had done a pretty good job with it, considering he stuck with the stock frame.

...an SUV SV fo' me ...I like it...slap on a couple of 8" Hellas, a Corbin, a rack, and more exo-skeletal guards...and I'll be on my way...its way mojo cool, man!

...I'd double disc the front and find an even bigger gas tank than the stocker, tho...

Have to be honest here. TheSV is a kick but it is a V-twin with a fairly long stroke, certainly not oversquared like a 450 Yamaha or Honda motorcrosser. So it tends to take some time to rev. It would probably be a boring supermotard motor.

You want something with horsepower and throttle response for motard. Now as a dual sport I would think it would be pretty damn heavy. Don't fool around, by a KYM Dual sport and kick some ass.

...you're probably mostly right, Z...but I won't be racing it hi-speed...I just want something tractable, almost like a DP rock-crawler bike (if there would be such a thing...and NO, not a Rokon )...different (definitely)...sexy and interesting (YES!), with decent hi-way manners and comfort to get to that camp site off that dirt road...sorta' like a GS1150R Suzuki-style with easy as pie parts availablity, ya know?
