I HATE the damn captain marvell mirrors on my ZX-12. Haven't been able to find a set of good looking and functional replacements either. I recall someone maybee Cliff Randall using a high quality bar end mirror on the left bar. Has anyone tried a Napolean bar end mirror and how did it work out? Does the bar end weight have to be removed to install the mirror and does this create more vibration in the bar with the mirror?

Johns, I have bar-end mirrors that are mounted inside the fairing. Slims the bike down tremendously, but function is, well,...better than no mirrors?!

mirrors
I tried a bar-end mirror on the left side, decent view but contacted the fairing near full lock turning right when adjusted to best viewing angle. Then I tried a mirror on the right side in the hole on the front brake bracket. Still stuck out in the breeze and the same deal, when adjusted properly contacted the fairing near full lock turning left! Easier moving around the 12 in the garage though with either one. Then I ordered a set from Dino, nice job by the way. I haven't put them on yet since the fairing is in the spare bedroom but they're keepers! Meet the spirit of the law and I always check the blind spots anyway before changing lanes.
I forgot, the bar-end weight had to come off and the mirror mounting had to be "modified" to keep from cutting off the welded nut on the end of the bar. In other words, my bar-end mirror didn't insert into the bar. I was hesitant to cut the end of the bar until I was sure the bar-end mirror was the way to go. For me it wasn't.

You might try easyrider's site, look under pictures, or appearance. He's got some good stuff there!

The Yamaha 600 mirrors bolt right on to the stock mounting bracket, and they look and work great too!

yah...I have the 7R mirrors on my 12R now (the pics are on Easy's site)...looks like the new 02' 12R mirrors will fit as well...hmmmm....might have to try that one, too, but I'm betting they're going to be supersuckass expensive, though

Hey jessz1......they are Magical Racing Mirrors. RR Type 1 with Black mounting bases. I love em. Super high quality carbon fiber with the best glass I've ever looked into for a mirror. They are feather light too.

Here's a different angle of the mirrors on the 12R, sitting beside my wife's GSXR 1000.

jessz1.....they cost about $280.00 to the door. Not cheap I know but well worth the price. No mods.....they bolt directly on where the original ones did. They come with mounting bases and a high quality gasket with mounting hardware. THE SHIT!
coupedu12......yes the wife rides a GSXR 1000.....all 108 lbs of her. Devestating during roll on's. She has been riding street bikes for 18 years. Dirt stuff even longer.

thanks guys for all the information. need some more help though. can you purchase magical racing mirrors through a company in the states? i am a complete computer dufus and couldn't figure out how to transmit the fax form on magical racing's website. never faxed anything on a computer before. it seems they dont accept orders directly on they're site. if i can't figure this out i guess the next best thing will be the zx-7r mirrors. will any model year fit?
