RE: Big Boy Leathers

Try www.newenough.com Or you may want to try to find a *local* leather retailer that stocks Fieldsheer products. I have a friend that was a few PLUS sizes and got a nice jacket right off the racks for $250.

I had a cobra custom made from Vanson, it was 750, I think they have a minor up charge for big big sizes.

vanson

I have a 2 pice vanson cobra set...off the rack, they fit. I was 6' 280 when I bought them.
Got them at Palais des mode(sp?) in LA.
Got them for 1000, including taxes, knee, elbow, hip, and the hard back armor.

I'm still waiting for my Vanson to get here, but I had to go the custom route too. 6'3" and 260 lbs. They had a discount going where you could get $200 off for custom graphics or lettering, but if you don't get any done they will take the $200 off of the final price. 1 piece Volare suit - $1500. Squidly bonus points - priceless.

I agree with everyone about the Vanson leather. It is definitely top notch. I purchased a Vanson Hurricane jacket this year which is perforated. It is extremely comfortable and cool even when the temperature is in the upper 80's.
They use 1.5mm leather which is thicker than normal and after you wear it for a shorth time, it fits like a glove.
In fact I like it so much, I am in the process of ordering a non perforated jacket for colder weather. The price of my Vanson was $550. Their site is http://www.vansonleathers.com

See....that is actually pretty damn funny because I always joke around about my leather coat as being special to me because so many cows had to die for it!

Tell me about it! I also have a 82in arm span finger tip to finger tip, needless to say, it's hard to find jackets with long enough sleeves. Oh well, "It's not a big mans world"

Go to the custom suits section of the Vanson web page. They have a form that shows you all of the different measurements that they will need to custom fit a suit for you. If I remember correctly it's something like 45-50 different measurements that are needed.

They are able to make ANY size, it just may cost a few more dollars to pay for the extra acre of cowhide.

Good post guys. Being that I'm in the "Big MF" catagory this thread is of interest to me. At 6'4" and weighing in at now OVER 275 it is hard for me to find gear that fits well. I just had a Joe Rocket leather jacket tear up on me (zipper) and want to get one of better quality. I will have to give Vanson a call when my wallet can stand the hit.

Yeah it sure is good he got the green one, cause if he just rode the red one, he wouldn't know how much power the 12 really had.

BigJ - I remember when you posted those pics before and I was in awe. Vanson is going to have to slaughter a whole herd to come up with something close to your size. It might be worth your while to get the steaks too!?!? Too bad they don't tan whale hide.
