it's the little bugs that are a pain.

phpBB has a few but think my "modified" version is pretty clean now.

cool. this installation of blazeboard is pretty hugely hacked up too, but i dont actually like doin that cause it means all upgrades & bug fixes are a shitload of work. i guess in the end the best thing is the write ur own from scratch.

Whoops !!

Tommy Hayden's Kawasaki 600 was found to be not in compliance in a post race tech inspection, according to the AMA. The oil pump in Hayden's 600 is the part in question.

He was fined $2000 and loses twenty points. He does, however, keep the win.

You would have thought after Honda and Suzuki got whacked for oil pump issues in the last two races that Kawi would have been in compliance!

oil pump? wow....maybe it runs a small impellor to add a few horsepower back to the driveline?

what gives??

or does it just notlook like the OEM

or do the tech inspectors resemble US Gov't agents, high on power and low on common sense?

That team manager should have his pee-pee smacked if he knew. If he didn't know, I'll bet there was some major ass chewing.

It was reported that Honda got into the big trouble because of a spring not matching the stock bike. Well they were so sure that it was the same they provided a new bike for teardown.

When the AMA tore it down it was different too. It seems like the "pre production" models that were supplied to the teams to make race bikes out of were just a little different than what started to roll off the production line. The team swore they didn't know, but it still cost them.

The say the change in spring could have given the race bike maybe 1-2 HP more than the stock spring.

I haven't heard about the Kaw issues, but the ZX-6RR is a new bike too so I'd GUESS it could be the same deal. We'll have to wait to till the "story" comes out.

Modified/smaller rotor in the pump allows less power to drive it. Lower pressure bypass allows bypass sooner and, again, less power to drive the pump. Not saying they did it but that's what you would do if you were going to do something.

The spring that Honda had on their bypass valve was different than the production bike. Of course the Production bike didn't really exist when they started riding and testing it! But anyway the difference in the spring they had and the stocker was about 1.5 to 2 hp. If you are in the supersport group or racing in general 2 horsepower is pretty important!
