Is the ZX12R becoming a "Collectable"
as the Topic heading says,, it seems to me that the 12's are becoming harder and harder to find, there dosent seem to be as many for sale, and getting used parts for them is much harder than it was a cuppla years ago,, tell me im not imagening this,, your thoughts,???

I pretty much just restored mine this year. The only frustrating item I had was lack of options for the full exhaust. It was either brocks, hindle, or muzzy. No more arata or akropovic. You can order different types from Japan, but you will pay upwards of $2000.
Up until this point I haven't had much problem, but most of my parts have been aftermarket upgrades or refinishing my existing parts. It should be becoming a collectable, but due to its unpopular nature, I don't see it ever really being worth an incredible amount of money. I got $10,000 into mine and I know I'll never get that back. At this point its purely a personal trophy.

By the way, im fairly new here. Didnt see a thread to introduce myself, so i been lurking around for a few weeks. That above is my big green girl. Im just coming back from the cruiser world. Left the speed behind for a few years. But decided to come back, and come back with another rare gem. Last bike i had was the Suzuki widow maker TL1000R. That being said i think i did ok picking up this machine.

Well done on leaving the dark side.
Indeed that is a unique look for a 12.
Wish mine were that clean.

I thinks a better topic. I do think so.. In order to get some of these other exhausts to work you gotta have custom work done. Even then its a choir finding a good tune for them. Or one close enough for it to run good.

Nah, alot of systems will run fine just bolt on. I have a hybrid Muzzy/Area P system and while it does run rich, it runs fine. A remap is always a good thing to do with any pipe tho. Pretty sure there are alot of stock systems out there still so I doubt they've achieved any collectible status yet.
