No power over 8000rpm
For the longest time I thought my clutch was just starting to slip, but since it never actually lets go, now I'm thinking there's something wrong with power delivery. At the track this week I was able to see consistently that the engine was stuttering from about 8000rpm on. Almost feels like it is missing frequently or not getting enough fuel. Runs smooth and with seemingly full power up through about 7000rpm.
Anybody have the same symptoms?
Any winning method to definitively diagnose what is going on? (other than having to take the whole engine apart and inspect)
My guess would be I need to start by pulling the plugs and inspecting them.

don't think so. seems to start strong and li-ion means the voltage should always be strong. worth confirming though.

Most likely the fuel pump. When it starts to go, the pressure drops and the bike doesn't pull beyond 7/8k.

I think the only tool you need is fuel pressure gauge and their cheaper to buy than to go to the dealer...

Hi
autozone rents (free) a fuel pressure kit , gauge and t adapter plus other fittings .
tested my zx12r 2000 before regulator fuel pump on 44psi , pump stopped 42psi , max 72 psi when return blocked, volume 115 ml 3sec , but after regulator only 50ml 3sec run time .
