I for one can give you some very good advice about Buying anything. Buy from someone you know and trust. Buy from the Distributor like Street & Competiton or any supporters of this web site that sell the pipe. Ask Voz about getting a "Good Deal"!

I have built a great relationship with my local dealer. I'd rather support someone local and it also gives me a chance to physically put my hands around a neck if I need to.
I DON'T give them shit about what I can get on the net. I understand they need to make money (they aren't there to give me free shit) and I really try not to be a pain in the ass.
Reward: I get really good service from the guys there. I get stuff pretty quickly and they are really liberal on their pricing. Plus, I also get small goodies on the sly (those little bottles of Plexus? Haven't paid for one yet.).
I have a general idea for what's reasonable for prices and I keep in mind shipping and what not to get my parts to my door when comparing to Net prices.
And yeah, I'll pay a little bit of a premium so I can get good service from folks that I trust. And I think my dealer as well as myself have benefitted.
See: Voz's problems with dood on net that just quoted lowest price.

Jon, Well said. I also had this relationship with a Dealer until he sold to a Business man that does not ride bikes. Yes I got 15%, but I always did between 2 to 5,000 a year with him. Now they get (I refused his 5% and "Special" Handling) 100% of between $10 to $25 a year (Every now and then I run out of Oil filters or a nut or Bolt that are made for the 12 and will never buy another Bike there either). A good relationship with a local dealer or parts place is worth the few extra dollars ALWAYS!

Ive found that even trying to establish a relationship with a local shop or dealer always ends in problems. Most local dealerships have huge turnover, so the parts guy I just spent $3,000 with, is now at Home Depot for $1 more an hour selling me tools for my home. Not knocking anyones career choice...just my experience.
Thats why I like Ron Ayers or Alcoa Good Times. Crazy Cantons was good to while it lasted too. Call up with the part #s and a credit card and BOOM....parts are at my door 3 days later. My local Kawi dealer takes 7 business days to fill an order.

I also will use Ron Ayers before this dealer I had! Actually my step son worked for the original owner and the New Person fired him! I did not have a problem with that but I saw things going down HILL! after that !
