Unfortunately more people watch infomircials or trading spaces or some other mindless stuff then watch motorcycle racing in America. So speed channel coverage sucks and biker boyz draws more attention then the real stuff.

Oh no, we can do much worse. Yesterday morning Fox News ran a short spot with the banner "RACE DEATH" across the bottom of the screen. It featured impressive video some of our friends the "Extreme Riding Idiots" doing their thing through neighborhoods and down the freeway. Lovely.

Yah, can't win. I think a healthy part of what passes as 'concern' is really envy. Not so much envy of the bike, but envy of the expression of freedom. Not that I condone that kind of behavior. It's taken me many years, but I really do feel that outrageous speed belongs on the track. If only more communities recognized the fact that folks are going to want to test their abilities. As surely as a neighborhood needs a basketball court and a football/soccer field, a city needs a place where people can take their car/motorcycle and test/enjoy it's potential. The place where you speed makes the act either 'reckless' or 'competitive'. Nobody accuses M. Schumaker of 'driving recklessly'.

Count me in......... Yeah, I'd gladly buy that. Awesome stuff, especially some of the slides. What really sticks in my mind though is that insane wheelie toward the very end of the clip. (red and white bike) OMG!!! Does that cat bring it back or what!!!! LOVED IT......

There was a great pair of articles in the First Person/Opinion section of the May and June issues of Roadracing World concerning "Racing TV". Amazingly, when a motorcycle race when head to head against a CART race, more people watch the motorcycle race (I don't remember the specific race events they were).
Basically, he was saying that the announcers for bike racing were boring and ignorant of what they were covering.

I don't know why, but I'm still drawn to watch the trailer... over and over again.
I just can't take my eyes off of it. I don't know if it is the soundtrack or the machine gun repetition of one action shot after another. I still cringe when I see the highsides and other bale offs, but it's those power slides through the corners that just has me memorized.
B.M.R.C.'s (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) song What Ever Happened to My Rock 'N Roll (punk song) just seems to fit the trailer so damn perfect. It would have to be the LAST thing I'd need to be playing in my helmet while I was riding, that for damn sure.
Ewan McGregor was the narrator. He sounds a lot like the one who did the Mach 2 and Mach 3 movies. Is it the same guy?
The director said, Hollywood - take back your 'Driven', your 'Biker Boyz' and 'Torque'. This is the real thing. You may not know it, but the people understand. You can just as easily add Fast and Furious and it's sequal.
Even though I doubt if it will reach the status of On Any Sunday, one thing is for sure and that is Faster will likely never be seen by any of those folks that flocked to the theaters to see Biker Boyz, Driven or Fast and Furious. That will be sad.
They say that the video and DVD should be out by the end of this year. Since I know that it will never be shown in any theater near Arkansas, I might be buying my very first DVD.

I've done that wheelie trick myself except I went a tad bit farther over and didn't come back!!
I especially like the two wheel drifts and the darkies out of the corner.
