Before and After (OT-pics)

Wayyyy off topic but it's OK cause I'm known for that. Been real; busy working on our property in the last few weeks. As you may know I built a deck on the front of our house a few weeks ago and hte past few weekends I have built two new gardens in our yard and expanded another one. I also planted a new garden around the deck. This shit is hard work. I went through 6 cu/yds of top soil, 4 cu/yds of mulch. Had to cut out a ton of sod (that shit is heavy), planted no less than 50 perenials and unknown amounts of annuals. Fuck my back hurts. LOL

For your viewing pleasure.

BEFORE pic of the old porch and non existant lanscaping in front.

AFTER pic of new deck and garden, check out the planter box I built and put on the driveway with the grasses. Cool eh?

Front view

New garden out front by the street, I even painted the street sign white, looks better than the steel and rust of the old.

Back roadside garden. I built this last year but extended it 17 feet along the road and another 10 feetinto our yard, including additional split rail fence. Things haven't really grown in yet but come July it'll be sweet.

Whole front shot. I didn't take a pic of the other new garden I built on the other corner of the backyard. Thought I did.

I'll bet he looked REAL cute bending over in the year with his Daisy Dukes on. I'm surprised Bart didn't make it up from Chicago to "help" with your projects.

Shit, no wonder you don't have time to ride. Out messing about with that @#$^&$@# yard. Fuck yard work. Fuck house work, too.

That would be sweet wormhole. My mother is a master gardener and she showed me a few pics of Japanese Style gardens that are incredible. Please show us pics if you decide to do it.

...will do, Otis...I really like the asthetics of the Japanese gardens...

...short story: I bought a book on bonsai years ago and have been wanting to take classes over the years but never got around to it. Always stopped at anything bonsai (some of my friends thought I was weird). I buy this new house, meet my new neighbors, talk about what we want to do with our yards, presto bingo "Hey my husband has been doing bonsai for thirty years!...he'd be glad to teach you!"

...this guy's amazing...he was president of a large bonsai society in Texas...he's been teaching me how to design bonsai...I feel like Daniel-san...good thing his vehicles are shiny...I don't have time for wax on wax off

Good deal. That shit mystifies me. I'd probably hack it up so bad the tree would resemble Ninjaman and who the hell would put that in their yard!
