Why I hate the Cable companies...
-their service and pricing suck... Their CSRs are dimwitted twits....
We have lived in our house for over 3 years.... we have NEVER had cable TV... we have a dish... we had a cable modem for 6 months, then switched to DSL..
since then, for 2 1/2 years we keep hearing from the neighbours that cable guys are on our property snooping around.... We have a guard dog, with signs warning of entering, but these guys keep coming on our land..
I have phoned then prolly 4x a year asking them to STOP coming on our land as we have a dog and do not subscribe etc etc....
they state that they can do whatever they want as they have an easement that allows then access.... Finally I told them to take their gear and leave.... they never did....
Now I get a letter from them stating that they think we are stealing cable and they have been on our property conducting a "leak test"....
I called them today and told them to take their box and cable away at 2pm.... they say no problem...
I come home and wait.... no one... I call at 220... they claim they have no record of any work order, but they will send someone right away.. I call at 245... they have the same story again... no record.... someone will be there right away... I call at 300.... no record again.. this time I get the csr's name and #.... I call at 325... I get this csrs name as well... she says no one has been dispatched.... I rip the box off the building with her on the phone, undo the cable back to the pole in the alley and leave it our there... 340... cable truck comes and picks up their box....
man.... was that really hard?
I told the poor clerk that I was sorry that I had to be rude, but apparently no one listened while I was polite for the last 2 years....
why are they so damn thick???
anyways... they now know that if they enter my property they will be charged with trespassing.. I made them write that down....

Them bastards!!
I'm not very good with the puter. My connection speed is horrible though. No cable cause I am in the boonies. Getting a satelite for the TV. What is a DSL? Is that a satelite link insted of a modem? How does that work? I'm curious cause I connect at 24600. I can'take it much longer!!!

I don't like cable co. asswipes either
I don't have tv at my house in fla.I just watch movies and have a dsl conn.
My wife has road runner in wilmington and it's been out at least 30 times in the last 10 months.They blow! it's ok when it works.
They wanted $30. to just turn on basic tv (I have had cable before) I told them to stick it in their ass!

jessz.... DSL or "ADSL" ... high speed connection through your phone line... as fast or sometimes faster than cable... consistant connection speeds... you can talk on the phone while yer connected and yer on 24/7 ... check herre to see if you can get it in your area:

I ran into the same thing when i resided the house. All I wanted was for them to remove the padlock on the box so i could remove it, then reattach it once the job was done. The clerk proceeded to read ME the riot act saying I had no business in that box. I told her if I had to pry the S.O.B. off of my own house she could pick it up in the street. They were there within the hour.
