FI light on
I was riding in the rain last night when out of nowhere the FI light pops on and the engine starts missing. I was a few miles form home so i keep going. about three blocks from home the bike shut down. 10 amp IG fuse was blown. I unplug pcIIIr and replaced the fuse. problem still was there and fuse blew about 2 minutes later. I'm thinking shorted coil or injector. I would br greatful for any thoughts.

exact same thing happend to me check your ignition coils. My number 1 coil failed. check them or get the code from your ecm. the coil that short was almost 1 inch longer than normal for some reason. the dealer ordered two because they thought there was a different part

i was hoping it was the coil and not the injector. ill pull it tonite. thanks for your input. ill be sure to post the out-come.

ohhhhhh yyyeeeaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
Got home from work and when straight in the garage. Pulled the number one coil and almost got sick from the smell. when i took a look a the plug i notice it was the same as the plug for a 98 and up ford coil.
Since i repair police cars for the city where i live, I had a few handy. Ford coil is large but will fit so i used it to test the circuit. Plugged it up a started the bike.
BABYS BACK ON HER FEET. I will go out in the morning and grab a new one if i can find one. I really am greatful for your help. Thankyou

i beleive that that coil is the same for the busa and other bikes that use this type of ignition system. what year is your bike, color & mods. etc.

i got my bike from the classified on this site. the guys name was jesse. 2000 zx12r greeen with MF exhaust. pcIIIr;muzzy cams; sprockets; muzzy clutch and basket; and muzzy lowering links. I'll post pics next
