What a week!
My Dad is in the hospital with internal bleeding.
Got a Dear John letter from my girl friend.
My new 1361 died on the dyno during Cyclebarns's dyno shootout. & I Kind of got jerked around by the shop. First, it was just a bad fuel pressure sensor, then it was "You'd better sit down....You've got broken parts inside the engine" They say trouble comes in threes; I guess I figure I've had my quota for this week.

damn dude, sorry ta hear that. & i thought i was havin a bad week (year). kinda puts it in perspective. hope it all works out ok, or at least the (assumably) more important first one

A bright side? Probably isn't much of one, but...
1. Hopefully your father is getting the best of care and will recover. Bright side? Better then him being in bed at home and suffering the same malady.
2. "Better to have love and lost..."... oh, bullshit. I've always hated that saying. Bright side? More money available to spend on your bike and more time to spend with your father.
3. Hopefully the damage is minimal. Bright side? The expense is less then the jewelry you would have bought for your ex-girlfriend and more then what you'll be spending on a Father's Day gift.
The brightest of side? Though it might not mean much right now, at least you woke up this morning. Looking at the "big picture", I believe we all know someone who did not wake up this morning... they're dead.
Not much of a bright side, but I do wish the best for you, your father and your bike. To hell with the ex-girlfriend. At least now you can concentrate on the things that REALLY are important.

Sucks, man. You have a choice, though - let all that crap weigh you down or pick yourself up and get after it.
Easier said than done, I know. But you gotta look on the bright side. I'll bet if you think about it that girlfriend was a fookin' biatch about something. Focus on that. 
Double fuck her if she resented your spending money on the bike! (Where's my DAMNED RING, ASSHOLE!!!! You spend all your money on the bike. WHAT ABOUT MMMMEEEEEE????)
Wish the best for your father.
Think about it, though. Good time to figure out what's really important (girls come and go, you can always get another bike, but yer Dad....)
Sometimes we get so caught in the minutia that we forget the big picture and what's really important, what's replaceable and what is not.
And - oh yeah. Fuck that biatch.

Thanks for your encouraging thoughts!
Only you guys understand how personal a bike can be, so I appreciate your thoughts and perspectives on this subject. My Dad is back home today, but the doctors can't find where the internal bleeding is. For now, he'll need to take regualar transfusions until they find the leak. I've pretty much accepted the fact that Women come and go, but I believe true friends are forever. My X just called wanting to talk. I'm not ready to be jerked around right now, so I didn't encourage any conversation, not sure I believe much in second chances for broken relationship w/women ?
