Speedometer Needed?
I'm looking at a 2002 ZX12 for a street fighter project and it has a wrecked instrument cluster. I'd like to put on a bicycle speedo or something like that. Will the bike still run and function without the gauges or will that mess with the ECU and the fuel injection?

Anyone? I'd like to get this bike soon but the speedo cluster may be a hold up on it.

have you checked ebay yet?
also, check the classifieds if you haven't yet. usually a few bikes being parted out.

I would prefer to do this setup without the stock gauges if I can. I'm going for a stripped look.

not a problem, the bike will run just fine with the instrument cluster "unplugged",,

On another note, is the speedometer cluster used to do diagnostics on the bike?

not that im aware off,, there are connections in the righthand side of the ducktail that you can hook into for diagonestics (spelling,lol),,

I ran my 12 without the gauge cluster for months after i wrecked it. it ran fine.
