suspension problems
Was wondering if someone can help me out with this. I've noticed that when I hit or go over a bump, the rear of the bike hits like I have no shock. I don't know much about setting the suspension. I tried turning the little nob that says soft and hard. Didn't seem like it made to much difference. I was wondering if I needed to check the air pressure in the shock. My bike has 4500 miles on it. Could that be a problem? Is there another place I should check. The spring seems to be pretty high on my bike, could this be a problem as well.
I really need some help here. I only weigh 165 on a good day 6'2".

The rear shock might need to be recharged with nitrogen. RedElk has done this. I think the cost was around $50 or so.
You can also lube up the suspension through the zirk fittings.
Both of these items are an inexpensive way to keep the suspension fit.

By no shock, do you mean Like a Ridged and no give or like a spring and no control and the Bike bottoms out??

Is this a new thing that's recently started up or has it been doing it for a while?
Did you mess with the rebound or compression? What's your Spring rate set at? (If you aren't sure, check your owner's manual for how to do that. If you don't have one, we'll help you out, but a point from your dealer would be a lot faster a easier - if they are cool).

my bike has pretyt much always behaved that way. well, maybe not right in the beginning but i never rode it hard enough then to find out. i guess i'll have to tr the lube and recharge too.
