I need a ZX12r engine to fit a 2005

I need an engine to fit a 2005, just threw a rod out the front of the casing. Whats left of the engine once I find an engine (head, covers, throttle bodies, starter, cover, etc) will go up for sale. If you got one call me 817-806-8010

GOOD LUCK WITH FINDING THIS! Motors are getting harder and harder to find from what I have seen posted recently. Keep in mind you own the last model year produced for the US market and it's about to be 9 years old. Sadly the 12R never sold in large numbers to start with making the numbers small from the get go.. Good luck

Thanks dude, yeah, its getting discouraging. Muzzys has one for five grand but that's not very realistic when I'm finding entire bikes for that price.

A 2002 will fit the fame easy enough but all the electronic will be different except the coil packs..

Old thread. But compatible donor engines are not that rare, or expensive.

I believe Gunner has told this man correct. That particular model year has different electronics if rhe buyer is looking for a drop in motor. Just fitting the frame is only about 1/3 of the process that needs to be considered when swapping a motor

Read his post.... The part where he's planning on selling all the remaining parts of his very rare 3rd generation 12R.. The number of 04/ 05 ZX12R's out there is small. I know since I've purchased all the electronics and throttle bodies I can find in the last few years. I've managed 2 sets so far. If he sold the parts he plans to sell and purchased any other B model motor which would fit it wouldn't run without a complete electrical swap including throttle bodies and I doubt he'll be very happy with the end result since he's use to 32 bit processor over the 16 bit dog shit everything pre 2004 came with.

Most people aren't aware the 12R underwent 3 major changes during the 5 years it was sold in the US. Really if you count the A1 separate it went through 4 since the A1 ECU and harness is an oddball ...

Correct the easiest fix this guy will find is some 2002 and up B model and swap all his electronics and ignition parts over. The reluctor wheel is also different. The Stator is also different, His wiring harness will require the late model connectors meaning he'll need to swap the actual stator . I'm unsure about the flywheel being different from an 04/05 verses 2002/ 2003

You guys are relentless but you do provide me with entertainment ... I can't wait for Hibbs to run his gums since he thinks he's a 12R expert now days.
