2004 gxsr1000
What is the best way to clean tank on a bike that has been sitting for 5yrs..

Thats crazy I was on the gsxr when I posted this...oh well probably the best info will come from 12 guys..I picked up an 04 gxsr1000 with 3000iles on it for $2500 and its been sitting in garage for 5yrs..it cranks and runs but sputters..good cleaning should help..I think the guy put freaking seafoam in the tank..

If there was any gas in that tank the fuel pump if fucked.Take the tank off and remove the guts. Clean and coat the inside of the tank.I would buy used guts off fleabay .You might of sucked all kinds of shit into your injectors. Witchhunter will service all 4 for around a 100 bucks.........

this stuff right here works very good. Used it on my k2 gsxr that had rust in the the tank. before sending your injectors to get cleaned I would recommend soaking the in sea foam over night. I bought an old throttle body harness and cut the injector plug off to make a pulsing switch, this lets you open the injector to in sure you can get some sea foam in it. also if it sat that long then you should replace all the guts weather they work or not, preventing a problem futher down the rd.
