I personally have not had any problems with the Power Commanders Ive owned. But I have seen MANY problems with the product. I dont need to get out a scope (like TedG did) to confirm my suspicions either. Matter of fact on the latest DG5 ride, Roger helped Brian pull his PC3 on the side of the Cherohola Pkwy because Brian's bike was running like total crap!!!
I can say Ive seen at least 15 Power Commanders fail.
My good friend actually had a DJ rep fly to FL during Bike Week and service his bike for ~4hrs. The Tech had 6..thats right...6 PC3s in his possession.
Ive seen some who regard the Yosh box as the Second coming. Im convinced the next step for me will be the Muzzy EMS or some other stand alone unit. (read big $$$)
I dont owe DJ anything...as I paid for a product and they delivered. I do think that the issues they have are undeniable though...even if Im not that technically inclined to differentiate the problems.
Future purchases of DJ products for me will be limited.

 Actually the DJ Rep that was sent to Florida was on a specific mission. Dynojet was taking extra time from our development schedule to try and track down the elusive starter kick back problem that some people were having. The biggest problem that we had was that almost no one could reproduce the problem consistently. We contacted several people that could show us the problem and chose to make our first attempt a huge undertaking so that we could get the problem solved asap.
I donated my bike to the R&D department eventhough I have only seen the kickback once. It was totally disassembled and the entire start sequence was evaluated. (Did you know that your bikes are all batch fired on startup?) After our investigation here we came up with about 4-6 possibilities that might be causing a kick-back on startup. Hence the reason that our guy (who by the way is not just some tech that we sent to waste someones time, he was the head of the PC development and the inventor on several of our fuel management patents) showed up with a half dozen complete Power Commanders. Each one had been pre-built to issolate a specific possibility so that we were not wasting a valued customers time.
You can thank your friend for allowing us to isolate that problem.

The ONE bike we had in here with the kick-back problem is now a 1361...
The owner sent his PC back...got it repalced and has NOT had the kick back problem since...
I'll look for the difference in John's map (stock pump/ Muzz Pump) tomorrow...
I'm going HOME ON TIME...for a change...

how many PC3R miles on your 12R now, fish?...I think I have at least 17K+ trouble-free PC3R miles on my 27340-mile 12R...a couple of times it hiccuped on starting, but I think it was operator error letting go too soon...and one time in San Jose on a mild temperate day after stopping to get gas after a tankful of miles, it wouldn't start at all..zip, nada, nothing...just the usual lights coming on, but no clicks or hums...so some dude bump-started me and I haven't had a problem since...

Worm I had that exact thing happen to me. Pulled over and then NOTHING from the starter. Ended up being a faulty Clutch Position switch so I had to pull it to neutral every time I started the bike, but before I got the switch replaced viola! it started working again. Oh well atleast now I know that I can pull it to neutral if it happens again.

My PCIIIr took a shit on my Turbo 1k at the end of day #1 of my cross-country trip in Illnois. I limped my way to Colorado where I finally abandoned the bike.
I was bashing Power Commander and talking about getting a Yosh box...
How stupid of me... Lol.
I'll just try plugging back in the old PCIIIr and if it doesn't reboot and start working right again, I'll drop it on the ground a few times and see if that helps any....

This stinks like a backed up sewer. Dyno jet sucks on the 12 hell they can't even make an air filter how can they make a EMS for the 12

Something did occur in the space time continuim a few days back. Because my ability to log in has changed as well. But can't say I have had any posts elimianted. Did notice someone elses disappear recently.

Dropped it on the ground a few times. Plugged it back up. Still no worky.
Gonna buy cables today so I can peek at the map that's in there and see if it's just scrambled for some random reason. If so, I'll just reload it and I should be good to go. If it's completely fried... Well... I'll try going after Dynojet for a replacement.

So what happed when your bike quit. Did is start running badly and then quit or just straight died? Does your brake light still work? Does the Power Commander turn on when you turn your key on? Details man and I could save you some shipping costs if you don't need to get it replaced/repaired.
