Anyone actually weighed their 12? I was just wondering what my 00 12r weighed and how much it might vary from bike to bike with mods and weight reduction?

As posted on Dragbike Zone Truck Scales and New Math
Nothing that would be that accurate. The new math intails taking the truck scale weight, dry weight and the amount of weight that I have removed (I've weight each piece, nut and bolt... I have no life) and some guessing.
Truck scales - 534 lbs. (bike only - full tank and all my gizmos & gear)
Weight removed from bike - almost 30 lbs.
Bike wo/gear, gizmos or fuel - 485 lbs.
Red Elk - 212 lbs. (buck nekid)
Riding gear - 18 lbs. (guess-timated)
TOTAL PACKAGE (with no fuel or gizmos) - 705 lbs.
Add a full tank and it's closer to 740 lbs. Now the big question is... if I want an accurate weight of my bike, where do I go? The nearest drag strip is 120 miles away and I don't think that there's going to be any events happening for a while (Duh!). Even if there was, I doubt if they'd let "non-competetors" just jump on the scales for shits and giggles. So, where do I go?
Near by truck and grain scales are meant for a lot heavier objects the my bike (even with me on it). I don't think rolling the front wheel and then the back, onto a bathroom scale will cut it either. Not that I plan on going to the strip and prove how slow I really am, it's just I'm curious as to what my bike REALLY weighs.

...so....with a grain truck on the scale, ask the good driver if he'd mine you rolling your bike (and you, even!) on the scale...add...subtract...viola'!....and there you are....I think that's what McGyver would do, doncha' think?

Industrial Park Redelk,
check out your area in the industrial area, some company should have an in-floor scale good to the +/- 1 lb. You can even measure front/rear % because of acuracy. Of course you can do bathroom scales if you make sure the wheels are level(raise the wheel not on scale)but you knew that.

This ain't hard...Get two accurate bathroom scales that read up to 350 lbs each. Put one under the front tire, one under the back. Add them together. Now roll the bike off, and dress up, then weigh yourself.

I checked mine on a special scale they have set up for weighing shipping containers that get offloaded at the train yard... its a nice, very accurate digital scale... you are supposed to pay, but you can usually sneak in on a bike, get weighed, and take off before the operator notices and locks it out and chases you around...
543 was the stock wet weight of the 00 12, and it has no US emissions bs etc.... it's just a heavy pig ... that's all... over a hundred pounds more than my duc imagine how happy I was to see that number pop up kawasaki !
