It's coming-CBR 1200XX Super Blackbird!! Got my MCN the other day and guess what is on the cover. A computer enhanced photo of the new Honda for next year. They quoted Honda to build the most powerful production bike with VTEC. Damn good looking, if I do say so myself, I've been waiting for this one for a while. It'll be interesting to see what numbers they build into it and how she stacks up.
Bout time we had some more competition to up the ante. My guess is a revamped Busa will follow and try to trump the Honda. Let the games begin!!! ____________

damn gozr, thats the nicest looking rendition of a 12 i'v ever seen. what is done (photoshoped) to the bike to get it to look liek that? just the shortened tail & different swingarm? seems like there's more. but i cant see it.

Since, I sale for a very large Honda dealership. I've heard nothing. You know we have the turbo guys working on our stuff now.(HENSON&STOTZ) and we do have the TURBO WATERCRAFT.
Wouldn't it be something?

I can see the Kawasaki Green shining thru in this post. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor there was a great deal of celebration, except for Admiral Yamamoto (I believe it was him) that said "I fear we have awaken the giant" Be careful what you say. Honda has more then enough cans of whoop ass to open on us setting on the shelf. And lets not forget Kawasaki's performance. The ZX9 set the market on fire for nearly a month. The ZX9 is now included in the liter class tests so that the magazine writers have enough bikes to go around. The ZX12 ws released as the bigest baddest bike in the world and has not honestly beaten the busa in any notable shootout. This is after Kawasaki had a year to study the busa mind you. This doesn't even begin to address the fact that the ZX6 has had it's head handed to it for years to a point that Kawi had to make it a 636 to keep up with it's competition, and the ZX7 is well older then shit and Suzuki's GSXR750 has long since kicked the 7's ass in to tomorrow.
This is one guy that would love to see Honda come out a V-tec engined 1000 with major hp, handling and 750 clas wt. There is no reason to believe that the 954 evolved into a 1000 won't be a powerful and lightweight motorcycle. The preasure still lays squarely on Kawasaki. They need to give us a class leader 1000. Even Suzuki improved their already class champ GSXR1000.

Kawasaki simply has Jap disease! Make a Bike whip everyone and go back to bed. New Bikes come out and beat it, Make another one and Whip everyone and go back to bed (H-1 500, H-2 750, Z-1, Z-1R, GPZ 900 R, ZX10, ZX11, Too much of a Good thing, then ZX12 and the Boom got dropped before it came out! That is all!

Man you guys need to deflate your egos. Zhooligan and vincent speak sense, but man the rest of you-what's the deal afraid of some competition. I think it's what the industry needs. You guys sound like the Busa boys when Kawi was gonna release the 12. What short memories.
The busa-12 war is yesterday's news, we need some new entrants to spice things up and give us some more comparisons. Of course we all will claim the fastest bike is the one we are riding.

HONDA IS COMING....????? been there all along ....! years ago right around the time hondda came out with the magna series motors...
they had an R&D program going on over in japan
that was Not marketing oriented
they had many engineers building real engines
from design thesis & "what if's"
to actually see what they got out of them
they built them.... ran them & blew them up
compiled alot of real world data..... no BS !!! no IF's......
choosing a 5 cylinder design was no fluke
they had probably already done that
remember the 6 cylinder dohc engine from more than 35years ago
the 3 cylinder 2 stroke that was very competitve(kenny roberts sr keeps copying the dominat thesis at honda)
they had already built them ..... run em..... & blew them up........
yamaha had a similar program
they were interested in # of valves per cylinder
if memory serves me.......up to nine valves per cylinder
this after the 5valve genesis engines were marketed
still in all these years 5valves havent shown a clear....CLEAR advantage over 4
(in drag racing even less so)
back in the day when hondas were turning 17-18k rpms in gran prix.......some marques had 7-9 speed tranny's
multi cylinder .... up to 8 !!!!
who do you think behind the scenes lobbied the hardest to return to 4 stroke racing...... HONDA!!!(must have been swingin a bat with barb wire wrapped around it) ... to get back into MOTOGP(gran prix) racing
can anyone not remember that they were mildly successful with 2 strokes..??
the ns500 4 stroke was built because tthe rules favored 2 strokes....
not because honda didnt have a 2 stroke.... or was not competitive
last season didnt just fall into their laps

the dyno curve of the 600's.... the honda is the best...... not the mostest
the rc51 still a competitive bike
honda can simply get it done(no i dont own 1..)
after a dominant gran prix season last year

Honda is very comfortable being #1, and they got there because of the quality of the motorcycles they make. Honda could make a class-leading performance bike at any level/size. Honda is more interested in making quality, refined bikes, which has made them what they are today. Why would you change a winning formula? As far as racing, we all know that MONEY and the BEST riders is what wins races. Honda has nothing to prove to anyone, that's why they are content being number 1 in sales. Why would Honda change their focus to a design that has proven not to sell as well as what they have been doing?

I for one, am really looking forward to this year. There as just so many good bikes coming out! Someone earlier mentioned egos...It's true, most of the time, a person's ego is what convinces them to buy a bike. Ego takes some sneaky routes sometimes. We label it as 'individualism' or 'brand loyalty' or whatever. None of that is bad, kinda what makes the world go round. My next bike? Dunno! Still waiting to test ride the SV1000 and Z1000, then I'll know if I want to go down that road right now. What I can tell you is that I'm really happy with the choices I've made over the past three years. The ZX12R has been an awesome experience, and can still provide an unequaled thrill out on the road. The SV650 has been a great bike to go roadracing on, and my ZZR has been the best highway mile eater I've ever owned. Do I need a naked bike like the Z1000? No, not really. Anything I need to do on it, I can do on the ZZR. Do I want one? Hell yes, despite the fact I've never ridden one. But that's my ego talking. I want that 'rugged individualist' look. Will I be rushing down and getting one? Nah, not till I decide which bike to get rid of (four is my limit).

This constant talk of "Hondas" makes me want to Honk! Lets face it .........the real reasons we all have I'm sure to ride what we do is because we like what we ride. Personally I like Hondas only because they are motorcycles but they have absoulutley "NO PERSONALITY" in looks or sound and that pukey stamped together feel. Like a number of bike manufacturers out there. Hell ........Ive even had Hayabusa's, but had to go back to that Kaw thing I just can't put my finger on it!!!! I guess it's just that it seems to have a little more character almost like trying to compare a Vette to an Acura "puking again" or something (sorry) All this aside we know that the new ZX10R? will have that same malor ATTITUDE!!!! We hope.... Plus kick major ass to top it all off! Can't get better than that!
