swft,
My pc3r seemed to be working fine, started better with it than wo it.
BUT....
When i got to the office this am, I printed out the map w/-5's which I had loaded on Sun, and lo & behold I had a TON or wierd huge numbers scattered in both fuel and ign, but only in cells 7000 & up????
WTF??? I have never seen this before.
could it have been generated when I disconnected the PC and did taht test???
has this ever happened to you??
all this makes me wanna call Doug at Spencer and just buy a new PC3r, although I have not had any trouble till now. hmmmmmm.......

Entropy - I'd just reload the map with the -5s in it and check it. Yah, was prolly from the disconnect/reconnect. Dunno how good the eeprom in it is.

Same problem, wont start with hot engine. I put new startermotor and now runs good. Also cleaning of old starter could help.

Mika,
can you pull the starter motor without dropping the engine????
(later)
duh... how about checking the manual before asking stoopid questions... Seems like the starter motor pulls out very easily.

I suspect its the insulation on the windings breaking down from high heat.If you can get the starter out without too much trouble, you could try taking a pencil eraser to the commutator to clean it up.Instead of buying another starter,I would check out a place that rebuilds auto starters and altenators. They maybe able to rewire it so you would get more torque.Beacon Falls is just south of Waterbury. It basically has 2 roads with dead-end streets sprouting off of them.It gets pretty noisy at night when the tree toads croak at eight o'clock.good luck!

they are just toads I find around the pool and pop when you step on them.I asked about rewiring for more torque and no can do.Was told it sounds like vapor lock and to spin the engine over with the throttle wide open and then start as normal. If it's the starter, the high temp is causing the internals to expand enough to bind.Possible solution would be to wrap the starter with header wrap(heat sheild)to keep the starter cooler.
